Don’t do this. Not only does it look terrible but it’s ridiculously dangerous. Scrap the car and move on.

Spot repairs fail!
I don’t care what anyone says. A clear blend will NEVER hold up. I don’t care what “process” you follow it just won’t hold and never does. There are smarter ways to do “smart repairs”. Utilizing body lines, license plate holders, ect you can hide your repair within those and avoid this. On a X7M that you know cost a ridiculous amount this is unacceptable.

Techs that blame the paint.
I fully understand that there are budget paint lines that flat don’t match. We call those overall paint systems. However if you’re a tech using a system like 9k, envirobase, hitec or even 100 line and blame the paint you have work to do. Technique and understanding of the paint line you’re using comes with time and experience. I’ve been there, frustrated with the camera and wanting to blame the paint. It’s you dummy. We have control over every decision we make. From deciding color, to tinting. Slow down and use the process. What’re some things that drive you nuts?!

These 3M Collision Repair sanding discs are the 💣
I’ve been using these since they came out. There is in fact no easier way to prep a blend panel. Clean, clean, clean the panel first and these will outlast most regular paper that’s on the market.
