Stamping Trails Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator/Owner of StampingTrails Hello, I’m Lisa Maynard, founder, and owner of Stamping Trails. I’m so glad you stopped by.

I’d like to share a little bit about myself. My husband of 27 years, Joe, and I live in Billings, Montana. Our two grown daughters are attending college and professional school which officially makes us empty nesters. Well, almost empty nesters as we’ve gladly taken on the role of grandparents to our grand-dog Thatcher, a Mini Australian Shepherd. We also own a cabin on the banks of the Stillwater

River near Nye, Montana. As a native Montanan, this is the perfect spot to continue enjoying all the outdoor activities I relished as a kid – hiking, fishing, and whitewater rafting. At the end of the day, we typically lounge on the deck under the canopy of a star-lit sky and embrace the murmur of the river. Although I take great pleasure in being outdoors, crafting is where my heart is. Over the course of 30+ years, I’ve ventured down a variety of crafting trails including cross-stitching, fabric stenciling, small stints at knitting, and sewing – it might be safe to say that I’m not a newbie by any means. For the past 25 years, my chosen path has been decorative painting. About two years ago I came upon another byway – paper crafting - through a good friend in my decorative painting group. After I saw the adorable cards she had created, a desire was stirred in me to give paper crafting a go as I have such fond memories of making and playing with paper dolls as a child. I came across Stampin’ Up! and my upline on Pinterest if you can believe it! I soon fell in love with card making and all the products involved with it; the assorted paper, the chromatic ink, the gadgets, the bling. But most importantly, I envisioned the sentiments that are yet to be written inside and that fills me up with such joy. Taking ordinary products like stamps, ink, and paper and creating an extraordinary piece of art is incredibly fulfilling. All finished and ready to deliver! I created these thank you cards for a friend using the Layered Thoughts stamp set for that bold, textured “THANK” and the sweet handwritten “you” accent. I paired it with Florals In Bloom designer paper and added torn edges for a soft, organic look that shows off those gorgeous patterns and colors.

I even carried the torn layers inside the card and onto the envelope flap—because a little extra detail makes handmade happy. Gratitude looks good in every shade, don’t you think?

Working on a stack of thank you cards today for a sweet friend 💕 There’s just something relaxing about stamping a bold sentiment and mixing it with beautiful patterned papers. I’m using the Layered Thoughts stamp set for that big eye-catching “THANKS” and pairing it with the Florals In Bloom designer paper for the perfect pops of color and texture.

I finished my May pages for the Month-by-Month Virtual Album Retreat, and I’m so excited to share them with you!

As you know, I’m very new to scrapbooking, but this retreat has been such a fun way to learn month by month. Each layout teaches something new—layering, torn edges, color balance, fun embellishments—while giving me a chance to document moments in a beautiful, creative way.

I love the sunshine vibe of this spread… the bright yellows, deep blues, and those gorgeous floral borders. And how cute is the highlights section for jotting down memories?! This virtual retreat has definitely boosted my confidence with scrapbooking, and I’m loving how each month has its own personality.

Here’s another Christmas beauty I created—this one was CASE’d from a fellow demo, and I just loved how it turned out! I used the Merry Christmas stamp again (it’s quickly becoming a favorite!) and paired it with the Branching Out dies, Elegant Pine Snowflakes DSP and the festive Traditions of Christmas DSP. All those pine branches and pops of red come together so beautifully for a classic holiday feel. I stamped the sentiment in Secret Sea, and it gives the whole card such a rich, elegant look. I also added a strip of coordinating DSP inside to finish it off. Christmas crafting is definitely in full swing over here! 🎄✨

I had so much fun creating this festive Christmas card using the Merry Christmas stamp paired with the gorgeous Elegant Pine Snowflakes DSP. I just love how the pine sprigs, snowflakes, and soft winter colors all come together for a classic holiday look. The bold sentiment really pops, and of course I had to add a touch of sparkle with a couple of gold embellishments. Inside, I carried a strip of the DSP to tie everything together. This card was such a joy to make—and now I’m even more excited for Christmas crafting season!
