TMZ (Thomas Meagher Zone) Reports: Rock legend Billy Idol has officially issued a cease and desist order to Montana State University regarding the unauthorized use of his hit song "Mony Mony."
In a statement released this morning from his attorney's office in Missoula, Mr. Idol clarified his stance:
"I love a good rebel yell, but I draw the line at the Bobcats using my anthem. That song was written for champions, and frankly, my heart belongs to the Griz. When I wrote 'Mony Mony,' I was actually envisioning a Saturday at Washington-Grizzly Stadium. Stop playing my song when you aren't even playing the Griz. It’s weird, mate."
The Thomas Meagher Bar stands in full solidarity with Mr. Idol during this difficult legal battle.
