Have you donated to Books For Kids yet? We are in the last 3.5 weeks of fundraising and we are getting close to funding every Billings Public Schools elementary school! However, we cannot do it without your help! Currently we are raising money for Poly Drive Elementary. After that we only have four schools remaining!!! Help us cross the finish line.

For $18, you can sponsor a student to receive a book every month of the 2025-26 academic year. That’s 9 books over the course of the school year that each student will receive. This event is going to be a lot of fun, but it’s also a fundraiser for a great cause. The goal of the event is to raise enough money to fund another school for Books For Kids. Thanks to all the sponsors for covering the cost of the event itself, 100% of the admissions will be donated straight to The Big J Show Cares’ literacy program, providing books to students each month of the 2025-26 school year.

Hilton Garden Inn & Home2Suites presents the 4th of July Block Party - A Books For Kids Fundraiser is tonight @ the 406 Events Lawn!!! Our goal for the event is to raise enough money to fund an entire school for Books For Kids; each student at one school receiving a book every month of the 2025-26 academic year. But we need YOU there to make that happen! 📚

Whether you’re heading to Laurel, Castle Rock Park, or doing your own thing, please stop by this event and enjoy some hot dog concoctions from some of Billings best chefs and restaurants. Andrew Newman, Mr Taco, Madhouse Gastropub, La Taqueria, Pie Guys, Hound Dogs, and Wonderful Wiener are planning on making some unique hot dog creations for you to try. 🌭

Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for kids 10 and under. Each ticket gets you 7 taste tokens and a soft drink. You’ll be able to fill up on creative dogs and get your dinner in before you go watch the fireworks! We also have Club Lux on site if you desire an adult beverage. 🥤

Magic City Productions will be on stage playing patriotic/summer tunes and setting the vibes for you. 🎶

We also have a hot dog eating contest at 7:00pm brought to you by Leaf Filter. Can you channel your inner Miki Sudo or Joey Chestnut and taken on the competition? Winner walks home with $200 cash!! Entry into the contest is $20 and we still have room for more athletes. Message us for details. 💰

The event runs from 5:00-9:00pm, so no matter when you stop by, you’ll have time to eat some glizzies and get to where you need to go for the show. This is all for a good cause and helping our literacy program. 100% of the proceeds benefit Books For Kids, so please stop by and donate to the cause!!! 🧨🎆

We are just a few hundred dollars shy of raising $10,000 with this raffle, and about $1,500 shy of $100k raised in total so far this year! We have business news!!!!!

A permit has been filed for Wing Stop at 24th Street West & Grand Avenue.

We can also confirm rumors that Dunkin will hopefully be opening soon(ish) in Billings! No location confirmed on this one!

A new restaurant is set to take over the old Rio Sabinas spot in Shiloh Crossing. The one pictured is the one in Casper, WY. The floor plans are what they plan to do with their Billings location.

Judging by the logo, I feel like we might get along.

It’s that time of year again! We are off to an amazing start and we can’t wait to share all of the good news with you. Head over to The Big J Show Cares page to see what schools have already been completely sponsored for next year! 📚

Fundraising for our 5th Annual ‘Books For Kids’ fund is underway and we could use your help. For a one-time donation of $18, you can sponsor a student to get 9 books next school year — one every month during the 2025-26 academic year. About 16% of children who are not reading proficiently by the end of third grade do not graduate from high school on time, a rate four times greater than that for proficient readers.

These books are for these students to keep and read whenever they want. Our goal is to get in all Yellowstone County elementary schools and continue buying books for years to come so that by the time a student has completed their K-5 education, they’ve been given over 50 books to read.

We have devastating news for many in our community: Guttbusters will be absent from MontanaFair (Billings) for a second straight year. Due to family reasons that conflict with the fair’s schedule, they will not be attending and making delicious deep-fried cheeseburgers known as “Cowpies.”
