BREAKING: Bomb threat reported on MSUB Campus.

Studebts were notified September 12, 2025, at 5:30 pm, that a bomb threat has been reported at McMullen Hall. Evacuate the area. Follow instructions from authorities. Monitor the university website and your university email.

Official Update on the Fire Near Lockwood:

There is a large fire burning in a salvage yard near Lockwood. There are numerous firefighting resources in the area, and law enforcement is assisting with traffic control. The smoke column is very visible and will be for some time as crews work to contain this very challenging fire.

Please refrain from approaching the area or stopping on roadways as traffic congestion is a concern.

Please also refrain from calling 911 to report the fire or smoke unless you see flames associated with an entirely separate fire in a different location.

Those with respiratory conditions should avoid exposure to the smoke by remaining indoors.

There is no need to evacuate and no further cause for concern at this time. Should this change, and updated Alert will be sent.

ICYMI: Huge congratulations to McLovin and all of his community partners on the HUGE success of the 5th year of the Books for Kids program!

His passion and tireless dedication to this specific project have brought the magic of reading to 9,300+ students across 29 different schools, including every K-5 student in School District 2.

It sounds corny, but I couldn’t be more proud of the guy! In just five years, he has built a legacy that will benefit us all. His love for our community is contagious. Shout out to McLovin, because he hates the attention, but our community is a better place because of you! 😘
