Foreign land ownership is a hot button issue lately, so it is great to see some actual data. Of foreign ownership and leasing, 1% is by US adversaries whereas 87% by allies. The drivers are largely wind and solar developments.

Take-aways from the Lender Panel at the monthly MT Farm & Ranch Brokers meeting:

- Lenders have had one of their busiest years, despite the rise in interest rates and the slow down in the land market

- small loans for people relocating to MT are down, large loans for bigger projects are up
