PRAM Mississippi Beach Chapter

We provide professional development and engagement opportunities for public relations, communication, and business professionals in Coastal Mississippi.

Members of the Mississippi Beach chapter of PRAM are also members of the Southern Public Relations Federation (SPRF), which brings Mississippi public relations practitioners together with others in Alabama, Louisiana, and the Emerald Coast of the Florida Panhandle. Our chapter serves the coastal Mississippi counties of Harrison and Hancock. In addition to the professional development aspect of attending meetings and joining the chapter is the invaluable networking opportunities that come with meeting people who do very similar things in very different organizations — and all this for a modest annual membership fee of $70. We invite you to attend one of our meetings and see for yourself why the best public relations practitioners in Mississippi belong to PRAM. All meetings are scheduled to take place from noon to 1 p.m. the second Monday of each month at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Hospitality Resort Management Center, and only cost $15 to attend for members, $25 for non-members and free for first time guests. Reservations are not required.

Today is for us! 🥳

Happy World PR Day to all the PR pros out there. Sure, “public relations professional” might be our formal title, but we know all about the many *other* titles we carry - social media star, photo fanatic, crisis consoler, media relations master, and all-around workplace hero. 💪

“Let’s get a picture!” is ingrained in our vocabulary. We might spend an entire hour perfecting a 200 character X post. And nothing makes us happier than seeing the media picked up our story, and now it’s trending everywhere. 👏

We are brand builders. We are storytellers. We are connectors. And we truly love it all.

Hats off to you today and every day, PR pros! We make the world go round! 🌎

Communicate to connect. 🗣️

PRAM Beach is excited for our August program, featuring The Advocate editor and seasoned columnist/author Jan Risher!

Jan knows a thing or two about impactful conversation: she recently authored “Q of the D: Encouraging Conversation and Connection”, which features daily questions designed to spur meaningful exchanges between family and friends.

She was awarded the Brush Creek Arts Foundation Fellowship and Residency in Wyoming in 2019 and the New Start Fellowship at West Virginia University in 2021-2022, for which she earned her master's degree in journalism and New Media.

Additionally, Jan is passionate about doing her part to make the world a better place and encouraging others to do the same. She and her husband moved to Baton Rouge on the first day of spring in 2022. They are parents of two twenty-something-year-old daughters, Greer and Piper.

Fun fact: Jan is also a skateboarding champion! 🛹

We had an “ausome” time at our program today, featuring digital marketing queen 👸🏻 and CEO of Socially Ausome, Alyece Smith!

Social media can be a tricky tool to navigate - with things like algorithm pushes and monetized ads, sometimes our biggest question is, “How can we reach our audience as authentically AND directly as possible?”

The best public relations practitioners in Mississippi are in the Public Relations Association of Mississippi (PRAM). Our membership statewide consists of nearly 600 public relations professionals from every sector — advertising and public relations agencies, corporations, non-profit, government, education, industries and others. PRAM is a source of expertise and inspiration, and a forum for networking with public relations practitioners throughout the state and region.
