HEY FREEPLE!!!

The Afterglow Issue is almost here! This Friday (5/2), we will be holding a sunset launch picnic to disperse the issue. We invite you to meet us in our office (UUWB05 under marketplace) at 7pm to grab food, drinks, and magazines! Then, we will find a spot outside together (weather permitting) to enjoy the sunset and read!!!!

If you can’t make the launch picnic, we will also be tabling at Spring Fling on 5/3 from 1-5pm. Stop by to snag a copy of Afterglow, grab a prize, and get in your ideas for next year! After Saturday, the Afterglow Issue will be available online and outside our office.

We hope to see you this Friday or Saturday... or both! Thank you for an amazing year :)

Free Press is excited to annouce and open subissions for our final issue of the 24-25 school year: The Afterglow Issue.

The inspiration for Afterglow stemmed from its definition: “Light or radiance remaining in the sky after the sun has set; good feelings remaining after a pleasurable or successful experience.”

As always, we wish this theme to be interpreted however you would like. We accept literally ANYTHING connecting in some way back to the theme. Some ideas include short stories (~1600 words or less), poems, narrative nonfiction, research articles, op-eds, paintings, photography, illustrations, word searches, quizzes, playlists, etc.

Submissions DUE by March 14th, 2025, at 11:59pm.

Free Press is selling Superbowl squares! Part of the proceeds will go to the nonprofit Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project (WRRAP), that helps disadvantaged women access healthcare.
