It’s studio show season here in video production class! We have our first newscast this week with student-produced variety shows after that! Students are learning how to complete all the required paperwork to make these live shows happen.

Our talented Student Ambassadors put together this video for this year’s ACTEA conference. These young professionals attended the three-day event, gathered interviews and footage, wrote a script, recorded voiceover, and edited together a finished product to present on the final day of the conference.

This week, some of our seniors got the opportunity to do some client work for the CTE Technical Assistance Center of New York. Five students worked together to set up and run a two-camera shoot for a video about project-based learning. The video will be available on the CTETAC website at a later date. Stay tuned!

Back in April, our Audio Production team of Connor and Laila won 2nd place at the SkillsUSA New York State conference in Syracuse. This is their prizewinning piece! They were tasked with creating a minute long talk radio/podcast about the benefits of CTE in high school as well as a 30 second commercial for the New York State Fair.

Recording had to be done on site, which is no easy feat with all the noise and commotion at the contest site! They did an excellent job getting clean audio, writing scripts, gathering interviews, and editing it all together. Nice work!

The 2nd Place film from Video Wars 2025 was made by Ivelyse Guzman, a Union-Endicott Central School District senior. The judges were blown away by her composition, editing, pacing, and use of the prompt (an unexpected communication). Well done, Ivelyse!
