On September 15, 1963, a bomb exploded at the 16th Street Baptist Church as church members prepared for Sunday services. The racially motivated attack killed four young girls and shocked the nation. A fifth girl who had been with them lost her right eye in the explosion, and several other people were injured.

It has been 58 years since the attack. We remember the lives of 11-year-old Denise McNair, 14-year-old Carole Robertson, 14-year-old Addie Mae Collins and 14-year-old Cynthia Wesley.
