Rock legend Bob Dylan returns to Alabama for his ’26 tour, which is set to open March 21 in Omaha, Nebraska and includes an April 23 show at the Dothan Civic Center.
Now 84, Dylan has history in Alabama. He recorded his 1979 album “Slow Train Coming,” featuring Dire Straits guitarist Mark Knofler and known for the song “Gotta Serve Somebody,” and 1980’s “Saved,” part of his so-called Christian trilogy, at Muscle Shoals Sound. “Gotta Serve Somebody” won Dylan his first ever Grammy, for Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Male.
While both those albums were recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound, they weren’t done at the studio’s iconic 3614 Jackson Highway address in Sheffield. They were tracked at the studio’s lesser known and since shuttered 1000 Alabama Ave. location, a former Naval Reserve Building along the Tennessee River.
Tickets for the Dothan concert go on sale 10 a.m. CT this Friday via tixr.com, according to the venue’s page.
