I wish I could have been at the reception for 25 of my photographs of the US Civil Rights Trail at Arkansas State last week. I hear it was well received.

Not everyone has the ability to travel to all these sites so I hope the photos works as a way to learn more about the trail and sites.

I'm grateful a kind student names Mackenzie Hicks captured some photos of the event.

I hope to get there later this year and see it myself.

As a well-known photographer says "if you want to take beautiful pictures you need to stand in front of beautiful things."

Inspired by the encircling waterfront, rocky shoreline and magnificent tree canopy of their Smith Lake property, these homeowners looked to Barrett Architecture Studio for an equally captivating lake house.

The fair-haired boy I once was is now a hair challenged older man. I wore hats when younger trying to be stylish or cool. I need protection from the sun now but I would still like to look good too. I just received this gorgeous Panama hat from and I love it so much I was inspired to shoot a few self-portraits to share. I even dragged out a bamboo rod I made as a prop. Great people behind this based company. This Lynnville no. 2 arrived packed with care and they even threw in a . My old worn Panama I bought years ago is now officially retired. Third times a charm. I’ve battled through three early dawn shoots to get this exterior for the architects. Each previous time lighting would go out too soon and/or sprinklers would come on or a humid deep-South fog obscured the building. Today it finally came together with the help of the SouthPoint Bank Senior VP who was there early to overcome lighting issues. Thanks so much to the great people at

Heavy rain and dark skies this morning as we woke. Nothing pressing on my to-do list except handle the bounty of tomatoes pulling up on the kitchen counter. So before I got started I took some to the basement and let them show off their modeling skills.

There were more than you see here. Now some are reducing on the stove for sauce we’ll enjoy in winter. Some made up a lunch sandwich. Some were roasted with my garden poblanos and habaneros and made a great salsa. And some still await their future on the kitchen counter.
