🚨 UPDATE 🚨

SOTS was able to obtain additional correspondence that adds further context to the document we leaked two days ago.

Here is a redacted version of the statement provided with this document, dated 12/19/25:

“We will be holding a player draft in multiple stages in early January 2026 to determine initial rosters across all eight (8) United Football League teams. The preliminary and tentative details of January's draft are included [in the leaked document]. However, note that we are still in the process of finalizing all the elements surrounding the draft and will supplement and/or revise [this] with the relevant additional information once confirmed.”

The correspondence also includes key dates for the 2026 season:

📅 2/20/26: Training Camp Begins w/ Onboarding & Orientation
📅 2/23/26: First Day of Football Activities
📅 3/27/26: Regular Season Begins
📅 6/6/26: Playoffs Begin
📅 6/13/26: UFL Championship

It is also noted that “the full schedule for the 2026 Season is still being finalized.”

🚨 BREAKING 🚨

Per former Stallions QB J’Mar Smith:

• Rosters are being blown up.
• Coaches will be able to protect up to 10 players based on geographical proximity to the team (~200 miles or less).
• Despite his 4 previous seasons with the team and doing promotional events for the UFL just weeks ago, Stallions legend J’Mar will not be retained by the new staff.
• AJ McCarron expected to hire staff with Ole Miss ties.
• Don’t be surprised if Matt Corral is brought back to be QB1.

RIP Birmingham Stallions 2.0 (2022-2025)

The team now using the “Birmingham Stallions” name is a brand new franchise. It’s the Birmingham Stallions 3.0.

The coaches, players, and history have been discarded by the new ownership.

The team I loved is dead.

Coach Holtz,

In 2022, you chose to take a risk on a new professional football team in an upstart league. No one could have imagined what would come next.

- 3 Consecutive Championships: USFL (2022, 2023) and the inaugural UFL Championship (2024).
- A staggering 39-8 overall record: 33–7 in the regular-season and 6–1 in the postseason.
- 2023 Coach of the Year
- 2 Consecutive League MVPs: QB Alex McGough in 2023 (USFL) and QB Adrian Martinez in 2024 (UFL)

What made it all so impressive was your ability to win no matter the circumstances. Even in your final season, when injuries forced the team to rotate through 5 different QBs in a 10 game season, you still willed the team to a 7-3 record and a conference regular-season title.

You didn’t just coach a football team; you built one of the greatest dynasties in the modern era of sports. You will go down in history as the greatest spring football coach of all time.

What meant the most to all of us in Birmingham, though, was your love and loyalty. In the transient world of spring football, where coaches and players come and go yearly, stability is a myth.

Or at least it was, until you arrived in Birmingham.

Despite being underpaid for the value you brought to the league, you turned down opportunity after opportunity to stay here and building something special. "Giddy Up" wasn't just a catchphrase; it became a rallying cry. In a state dominated by collegiate athletics, you helped grow a genuinely passionate fanbase for professional football. You never saw this as just an easy paycheck; you gave us your very best day in and day out. In turn, Birmingham became synonymous with spring football.

We can’t thank you enough. You gave spring football legitimacy, you gave Birmingham a dynasty, and you showed us all what it looks like to pursue excellence each and every day.

“The Spring King” will always have a home in Birmingham.

Giddy Up ❤️
