New series: Build It Your Way 🏗️

Building official LEGO sets is only one way to experience the hobby. Pairing sets with additional builds or making modifications can be a fun opportunity to increase play or make your display look even better.

Dobby and Kreacher are hoarders. 🧦

Here we have a side by side of the old Dobby the House-Elf set ( #76421) and the new Dobby the Free Elf set ( #76468). Since I have the both sets, I opted to make the secondary model of Kreacher. I really like this flexibility and I think they pair well together.

But WHY ARE THERE SO MANY ACCESSORIES?! They clutter up a display and my kids have never really wanted to play with the extras. Including 1-2 is fine, but the new set has the diary with sock, boots, lamp, lantern, bottle of Skele-Gro, Slytherin locket, fire poker and some magical stars.

I’m sure they had a budget from the IP partner they were trying to reach, but I would have rather them put it in the model itself.

WYLIE HAS CAUGHT THE TIMBIT SNITCH 🧹

Trying out the new x collab and I was not disappointed (mostly).

Donuts and Timbits were fantastic, drink was not so much. Apparently, the collectors cup changes color to reveal your patronus.

Definitely worth a trip to Timmies if you’re in Canada or eastern US.

Needed to cast the Lumos charm 🪄

I was able to start building the new LEGO Harry Potter Collectors Edition Ministry of Magic ( #76476), but we haven’t had electricity in days.

More parts to come, plus some ideas for modifications I’m cooking up.

This tiny Hogwarts is PERFECT. 🏰

I have never owned the other castle layouts. The big one was too big and the medium size has never been on a good enough discount to justify it. But this new Mini Hogwarts Castle ( #40975) gives you just enough detail at a fraction of the cost. I think this will end up being my first LEGO set display at work.

Minifigs from all kinds of themes.
