I cannot stress this enough. Play. Do not take your home design seriously. Make messes, make mistakes. Make a home that feels like you. One of my absolute favorite things is when Bluegrass Refinery comes to my house and just starts rearranging. A couple of autumns ago he tour my mantle in my dining room apart and did whatever he wanted with whatever he could find. Follow his lead.
