Omicron Omega is proud to celebrate our chapter member, Councilwoman Carla Flakes, on being sworn in to represent District 3 in Fairfield, Alabama!

Councilwoman Flakes, we are confident your vision and commitment to excellence will make a meaningful difference in the lives of Fairfield residents. Wishing you continued success as you embark on this new chapter of servant leadership!

Today, the Omicron Omega Chapter is honored to share snippets of a powerful conversation between RaSheda Workman, CEO of YWCA Central Alabama, and our undergraduate partners, the Iota Phi Chapter (UAB).

As Domestic Violence Awareness Month comes to a close, our commitment does not. Ending domestic violence requires vision, resources, and unwavering commitment from all of us. RaSheda's message resonates deeply: "Lean into the community and into things that are bigger than yourself. The path you are supposed to be on is the place where passion meets purpose."

This graduate-undergraduate collaboration is a call to action for the next generation of servant leaders. To every young public servant: find your passion, discover your purpose, and join the movement. Our communities need your voice, your energy, and your dedication to strengthening families and promoting peace and justice.

The work continues. Will you answer the call?

💚💗 What an incredible Day 2 of YWCA Week Without Violence! 💜✨

Omicron Omega celebrated AKA Day at City Hall with greetings from Mayor Randall Woodfin, City Council President Dr. Darrell O'Quinn, and City Council President Pro Tempore Wardine Alexander, along with members of the Birmingham City Council and our distinguished South Eastern Regional Director, Dr. Tracey Morant Adams!

💜 United in our purple ribbons 💜, we watched Mayor Woodfin present proclamations recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We participated in his declaration of October 21, 2025, as AKA Day at City Hall! We're proud to stand with the YWCA of Central Alabama and One Place—both doing vital work to end domestic violence. Thank you to our city leaders for their commitment to ending domestic violence and supporting those in need. Together, we're making a difference! 💕
