Scored some sweet $5 records from an cool gallery/record store/listening room in beautiful downtown that we've been trying to find open when we are in town for years. The amazingly long tilted one also has a newspaper article review of the record from 1966. Can't wait to give them a play when we get home.

Whoa, a new episode after almost 2 years? This time we discuss our recent trip to Salt Lake City, including its big ol' streets, some fun spots for drinks (including the most interesting cocktail we've maybe even had), Utah Mammoth hockey, public transportation, chocolate as far as the eye could see, and the truly great Under the Umbrella bookstore - as well as briefly touch on our long hiatus and recording woes. We also tease about a potential upcoming episode about record bars.

We've been avoiding social media because the billionaire oligarchs are too complicit or active in destroying our democracy, but had a really nice afternoon in and wanted to signal boost some amazing businesses.

Randomly walked into (after having failed to visit them at their downtown location) and was really impressed with the selection and variety of work - and the generosity and interest the owner Adam provided as we talked about galleries and art. If you're in Decatur you should definitely stop in (they're off Ponce just a little way north on Commerce). You might get lucky and find a limited hand-embellished chicken bone print by .3dm :) (I've failed to bring a ceramic chicken bone idea into reality for many years, and always like his representation of an Atlanta classic sidewalk find.)

Followed on to a second visit to the also semi-recently opened - quickly my favorite record shop - full stop. The selection is great, the new arrivals always result in a purchase, and all their records are cared for at a good price! Plus it's clean, bright, and the owners/staff are always super friendly as well. They're just south of Cafe Lily off Ponce - you should definitely check them out.

Last was a random stop into for a quick cortado. Honestly I normally would have popped into Dancing Goats, but it's nice to have another option on the other side of downtown - plus the barista created this adorable foam art, which doesn't look as great in my photo, but I think it was a plum or a cherry or something. Fund to see something different than the flower/heart you often see.

Thanks Decatur businesses for giving me such a pleasant afternoon stroll. I'm glad I'm periodically in that part of town to get my haircut from Joel over at periodically - another great business deserving your time and money.

How many more innocent Americans will the rest of us Americans and our spineless Congress allow to be murdered by the Trump regime, their white supremacists handlers, their private terror force continues, and their conspiring billionaires as they destroy the rule of law, dismantle the constitution, ignore the bill of rights, and fill their pockets with corrupt money while citizens of the richest country in world can't pay for health insurance and a growing number worry about their next meal? We are beyond the baddies, we are everything thing the United States fought against and stood for since we entered World War II. We will be the cause of World War III while this regime tries to crush us into submission one Minnesota at a time. We are all next unless we stop this!

Sometimes Monday vacation in means somewhat unexpectedly having two flights of boiled and roasted and a at 11am. Also pleasantly surprised by the continuous stream of people coming in. Thinking of kinder days and kinder peanut farmer presidents while listening to Supertramp and Simple Minds. Thanks to staff for their great recommendations and hospitality!

Since we're members of the we usually prioritize going there and only go to the very occasionally even though it's across the street and their exhibits are always solid. Solved this by becoming members of today (who don't appear to be on bluesky yet ).

Great exhibit on the history, packaging, and making process as it's wrapped up in colonialism, slavery, and labor exploration. It also includes a tasting of local . Highly recommended - and check out next door too. :) Extra excited to try some chocolate when we visit later this year.

Also took a short walk around the neighborhood since we're normally in southern midtown and found a fun looking new food hall.
