Sometimes Monday vacation in means somewhat unexpectedly having two flights of boiled and roasted and a at 11am. Also pleasantly surprised by the continuous stream of people coming in. Been a minute. Trying to stay afloat in the current world. Decided to go for a walk to renew cards and stopped into the .
Since we're members of the we usually prioritize going there and only go to the very occasionally even though it's across the street and their exhibits are always solid. Solved this by becoming members of today (who don't appear to be on bluesky yet ).

Great exhibit on the history, packaging, and making process as it's wrapped up in colonialism, slavery, and labor exploration. It also includes a tasting of local . Highly recommended - and check out next door too. :) Extra excited to try some chocolate when we visit later this year.

Also took a short walk around the neighborhood since we're normally in southern midtown and found a fun looking new food hall.

As usual a bit of mixed success with new glazes, semi-random clay bodies, and infrequent firings. Some really nice surprises (and really liking the new blue in those cups. Didn't expect the blue fade on the upper right piece (and reinforces that I need a sprayer). Nice confirmation I can take this clay to cone 6 that was told prefers 5 and the coins and don't seem to warp any worse when skipping . Working on a short before and after video.

Loaded the kiln for a Thursday glaze firing. Under prepped the number of pieces to be fired so the loading Isn't as optimized as it could be, but wanted to getrdone. Refiring some pieces where the cone 5-6 clear glaze stayed milky after my last cone 5. Maybe risking things a little going all the way to cone 6 this time, which might get more warping in some of my mixed clay bodies. Only live once! Speaking of which, some bonus being his normal cute self - the last benefits from sound turned up! Will report back on firing results after!
