We've been avoiding social media because the billionaire oligarchs are too complicit or active in destroying our democracy, but had a really nice afternoon in and wanted to signal boost some amazing businesses.
Randomly walked into (after having failed to visit them at their downtown location) and was really impressed with the selection and variety of work - and the generosity and interest the owner Adam provided as we talked about galleries and art. If you're in Decatur you should definitely stop in (they're off Ponce just a little way north on Commerce). You might get lucky and find a limited hand-embellished chicken bone print by .3dm :) (I've failed to bring a ceramic chicken bone idea into reality for many years, and always like his representation of an Atlanta classic sidewalk find.)
Followed on to a second visit to the also semi-recently opened - quickly my favorite record shop - full stop. The selection is great, the new arrivals always result in a purchase, and all their records are cared for at a good price! Plus it's clean, bright, and the owners/staff are always super friendly as well. They're just south of Cafe Lily off Ponce - you should definitely check them out.
Last was a random stop into for a quick cortado. Honestly I normally would have popped into Dancing Goats, but it's nice to have another option on the other side of downtown - plus the barista created this adorable foam art, which doesn't look as great in my photo, but I think it was a plum or a cherry or something. Fund to see something different than the flower/heart you often see.
Thanks Decatur businesses for giving me such a pleasant afternoon stroll. I'm glad I'm periodically in that part of town to get my haircut from Joel over at periodically - another great business deserving your time and money.
