🔥 NBA Playoffs Weekend Recap – Round 2 Begins with a Bang! 🔥

The 2025 NBA Playoffs are heating up as the Conference Semifinals tipped off this past weekend with thrilling matchups and jaw-dropping finishes. Here's how it all went down:

🏀 Eastern Conference

🗽 Knicks 108, Celtics 105 (OT)
Down by 20? No problem. The Knicks stunned Boston in OT behind 29-point performances from OG Anunoby and Jalen Brunson. Mikal Bridges sealed the deal with a clutch steal! Boston set an unfortunate record—missing 45 threes. 😬

🏁 Pacers 121, Cavaliers 112
The Pacers lit it up from deep (53% from three!) as Andrew Nembhard and Tyrese Haliburton led the charge. Donovan Mitchell dropped 33 for Cleveland, but it wasn’t enough in Game 1.

🏀 Western Conference

⛰️ Nuggets 121, Thunder 119
What a finish! Aaron Gordon buried the go-ahead three with 3.6 seconds left, and Nikola Jokić did Jokic things—28 pts, 12 reb, 9 ast. SGA's 34 points couldn’t save the Thunder this time.

⚔️ Warriors 103, Rockets 89 (Game 7 – Round 1)
Golden State advanced with authority. Buddy Hield erupted for 33 points (9 threes!), Steph added 22, and the Warriors' defense locked it down.

📆 Upcoming Games to Watch:

Pacers at Cavs – Tues @ 7 PM ET

Warriors at Timberwolves – Tues @ 9:30 PM ET

Knicks at Celtics – Wed @ 7 PM ET

Auburn fans will never forget the heartbreak of April 6, 2019. A controversial no-call, a last-second foul, and a national title dream ripped away. But that night, Bruce Pearl made a promise: Auburn basketball would be back.

Now, six years later, the Tigers are just two wins away from making history. With a record-setting season, a dominant squad, and a shot at redemption, could this be the year?

"This time of year has always been my favorite — college sports in full swing, conference baseball, spring football, and, of course, basketball! But this year means even more.

A year ago, I wasn’t sure I’d still be here to witness it all. After a Stage 4 cancer diagnosis and an uphill battle, I’m beyond grateful to be doing what I love again — covering the game, writing, and making the drive to Atlanta for the Sweet Sixteen.

The SEC has dominated, historic moments have been made, and the road to the Final Four in San Antonio is getting more exciting by the day. No matter what happens next, this season has already been unforgettable."

Auburn had been snake-bitten much of this season, leading opponents throughout games, but losing at the end.

The Tigers faced that probability again against Texas A&M on Saturday night, but senior quarterback Payton Thorne took charge at the start of game and at the end to keep that from happening. He led Auburn to a 21-0 lead midway through the second quarter. Then in the dying minutes of the game with the Aggies holding a three-point lead, he led the Tigers on a 15-play do-or-die drive to tie the game on a field goal with just five seconds remaining, forcing overtime.

After three overtimes, the score was still tied when KeAndre Lambert-Smith caught a pass from Thorne across the middle of the end zone providing the two points needed for the 43-41 win.

For the game, Thorne threw for 301 yards and with two touchdown passes, ran for another 38 yards, led the final 15-play scoring drive and completed the game-winning overtime pass.

For his performance, Payton Thorne has been recognized as winner of the Academy Sports Award, Player of the Week.

Auburn was used to this scenario.

Start well … Lead most of the game… Outgain, outplay your opponent.

Then, lose at the end.

Remember Oklahoma. Remember Missouri.

This time is was Texas A&M.

After opening with a 21-point deficit, the Aggies roared back to force overtime. Four of them, to be exact. In the fourth frame, Auburn quarterback Payton Thorne connected with KeAndre Lambert-Smith, scoring the go-ahead two-point conversion to complete the upset of the CFP-hopeful Aggies.

Lambert-Smith's catch has been named this week's U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish "Catch of the Week." Read the full release here: https://www.lindyssports.com/college-football/sec/auburn/column/overtime-completion-wins-big-one-for-auburn/571440/

Playing on its home field, South Carolina had taken an impressive 21-6 halftime lead over Missouri and seemed to have things under control. But apparently somebody forgot to inform the Tigers and with just over a minute to play, the visitors had taken the lead.

Tigers quarterback Brady Cook had thrown a 37-yard catch-and-run to Luther Burden III with just 1:10 to go to take a 30-27 lead. The Gamecocks offense and its freshman quarterback LaNorris Sellers had only a minute for a miraculous scoring drive to avoid the loss.

Pressure … no problem.

Sellers drove his team inside the red zone, then tossed a Utah pass to former Arkansas running back “Rocket” Sanders who carried it for the 34-30 final margin.

Sanders' catch has been named as this week's U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish "Catch of the Week."

South Carolina has been one of the Southeastern Conference’s hottest teams in the past month.

The 34-30 win over Missouri on Saturday was the Gamecocks’ fourth consecutive victory and improved the season record to 7-3.

Freshman quarterback LaNorris Sellers has been a primary reason for the team’s continuing improvement … and he saved his best for the win over the Tigers. He completed 21 of 30 passes for 353 yards and a career-high five touchdown throws. He added 45 yards on the ground to produce 398 total yards in the game. His game-winning touchdown pass, a 15-yard catch-and-run, came in the final minute of the contest.

For his performance, LaNorris Sellers has been recognized as the winner of the Academy Sports Award, Player of the Week.
