🚨 Windows 10 support ends October 14, 2025! 🚨

Should you rush out and buy a new PC? Short answer is no.

The end of life for Windows 10 won't be dramatic like driving off of a cliff. Your machine will continue to function and work for quite a while. What will happen is that you'll stop receiving any updates, security updates or fixes. This could put you at an enhanced risk in the future for malware or apps not working properly.

Options:
1. You may be able to update your Windows version for free. So try these steps:
Check to see if this is an option for you by opening Settings > Privacy and Security > Windows Update. If your PC meets the minimum system requirements and is able to upgrade, you should see an option in Windows Update to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11.

2. Upgrade your machine. My take is if you aren't quite ready to upgrade your pc then wait until you are ready. If your machine still operates and serves you well, then continue to use it. Then, once you are ready, you can upgrade your machine and it will come with the latest Windows already installed.

Great article here from MS showcasing 700 UI use cases where businesses gained an edge using AI

The most interesting thing about Microsoft’s customer stories is how similar they are. A city government uses Copilot to summarize meetings. A developer uses GitHub Copilot to generate code faster. A consulting firm builds an internal agent to speed up onboarding. They’re all different, but the pattern is the same: some process that used to take hours now takes minutes.

This seems boring, but I don't think it is. It may not be intellectually fancy, but it's what real progress usually looks like: better tools that save time.

If you look closely, you’ll see something else. Underneath all these stories is the same trick: find a place where work still depends on humans doing boring, repeatable tasks, and teach a computer to help. Not perfectly. Just enough to save a little time each day.

Which turns out to be a lot. When 10,000 employees each save an hour a week, that's almost 500,000 hours a year. That’s the sort of math these companies are doing. It’s also why these tools spread so fast. You don’t need to believe in the myth of AI. You just have to believe you’re wasting time.

Your web guy owns your site. Not you.

Sounds crazy, but it’s more common than you think.

Here’s how it usually starts:

🧑‍💻 You hire someone to “build your site”

🌐 They buy the domain under their account

🔐 They control the hosting, CMS, and Google Analytics

🕳️ Years pass. You lose touch. Logins are missing. Passwords don’t work.
