A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for Burleigh, Ward, Morton, Stutsman, Ramsey, Barnes, Walsh, McLean, Benson, Rolette, Bottineau, Pembina, Mercer, McHenry, Wells, Cavalier, Pierce, Nelson, Foster, Renville, Griggs, Eddy, Towner, Hettinger, Emmons, Kidder, McIntosh, Adams, Grant, Logan, Sheridan, Sioux, Oliver counties until 10:00PM tonight.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area with hail, damaging winds and a tornado or two that are possible, we'll have to be aware of localized flash flooding into the night.

From the National Weather Service in Bismarck:

Central ND is the area to watch this afternoon as there is chance for a severe thunderstorm watch to be issued within the next few hours. All threats remain possible including 70 mph wind gusts, golf ball sized hail, and an isolated tornado.

Scattered severe thunderstorms (level 2 of 5) are possible across much of central and portions of western North Dakota today into the evening. Tomorrow the threat for scattered severe thunderstorms shifts southeast and includes the James River Valley.
