Consider the gospel of counterfeit miracles preached by witch doctors like Bill Johnson, the gospel of self-esteem sold by charlatans like Joel Osteen, the prosperity gospel peddled by greedy wolves like Kenneth Copeland, and the prideful gospel of cultural relevance rolled out by godless men like Andy Stanley.

These men don't just bring God's judgment; they are God's judgment on people who refuse to receive sound doctrine.

These men would be out of the job if the people weren't already hungry for ministers to offer them signs and wonders, good feelings, money, or cultural acceptance in place of redemption from wickedness and wrath.

However, true Christianity offers nothing that lost men in their sinful flesh already want. Christ offers a cross. A cross where you may be forgiven of your sin by His death in your place. He also offers a cross that you must bear as you die to your sin daily.

The cross is what Christian ministers must preach, regardless of whether the congregation wants it or not.

Salvation is found in Christ alone by faith alone for the glory of God alone!

We were -dead- in our sins. We weren’t merely sick and in need of healing, or broken and in need of mending. We were dead. God had to raise us up by sovereign regenerating grace. He gives us new hearts of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26) that are able to beat for Him! We would never be able to choose or love Him if He hadn’t chosen and loved us first!
