The 2nd annual Southern Songwriter Festival is happening September 19-21, 2024 in downtown Summerville. The three day original music festival features local and regional established songwriters from all over North and South Carolina.

Our next 2024 Mush, Music & Mutts Featured Artist: Mutual Love Club

"Mutual Love Club is a folk/americana project created by Danny Clayton and Heather Alpine Bech, hailing from Black Mountain, North Carolina. The duo have been collaborating for almost seven years, having toured the Southeastern United States with other local musicians playing at festivals and venues such as The Pour House (Raleigh, NC), Isis (Asheville, NC), Preservation Pub (Knoxville, TN), The Grey Eagle (Asheville, NC), and more.

Danny Clayton is a songwriter, guitarist, and bassist and has toured the United States playing college, punk, and acoustic folk in venues such as CBGBs, The Black Cat, and Gramps. He is also the primary producer and recording engineer for Martha’s Freedom.

Alpine is a songwriter, pianist, guitarist, and vocalist. She was born into a family of musicians and songwriters who were original settlers of the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina. For her, Mutual Love Club is an honoring of those family roots."
