When the Kitchen Smells Like Summer, and the Laughter Smells Like Home 🌿🍅💜🌻
There’s nothing quite like starting the week with the most incredible trio of interns — bright, bubbly, brilliant, and so full of heart. Their curiosity about food, plants, and the stories recipes tell is infectious. 🫶
Today was a symphony of summer in my kitchen: sweet and spicy holy basil, pungent homegrown garlic, and sun-warmed tomatoes straight from West We chopped, stirred, tasted — all while swapping stories of Appalachian roots, old mountain recipes, and what it really means to feed people with love. 🪴
The air smelled of basil and roasted tomatoes… but it also smelled like purpose. Like tradition being passed hand to hand, leaf to leaf, laugh to laugh. 🍃
Teaching them these life skills — how to nourish with intention, how to connect to the land and its legacy — fills me with so much joy.🤩
If only you could bottle this aroma — you’d wear it like perfume. 🫶
