The Gospel Explained

Jesus commanded us to preach the Gospel to everyone. Do you know how to share the Good News message of the Gospel?

Many people around us haven't even heard the Gospel, or maybe they've only heard a perverted version of it. You know something is wrong when evangelists come from other countries to do mission work among Americans and Canadians! The Gospel carries supernatural power in it that can cut through to the heart and can set people free from bo***ge.

Today is Pentecost Sunday -

The day on which the first apostles were gathered together in Jerusalem to celebrate Shavuot, "the Feast of the Harvest," and the giving of the Law (Torah) to Moses, the Holy Spirit descended upon those first apostles and filled the first-century church with power just as Jesus promised.

It reminds us that the same Holy Spirit that was poured out then - and the same power that raised Jesus from the dead - now lives within us!

It also serves to remind us that as born-again believers we are no longer under the Law, but were set free from the captivity of sin by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

On the day God gave the Law to Moses, 3000 people received the punishment of death for not following God's Law. And on the day of Pentecost in Jerusalem, after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, 3000 people became born-again believers and were saved under the New Covenant that God had established.
