Happy Bat Week Richmond! As a certified bat-friendly community, we are excited to celebrate these incredible and often overlooked heroes of the night.

Did you know? Out of the 18 bat species found in Canada, 15 can be found in BC – and 10 of those call Richmond home! All of the bats in BC are insectivores and play a big role in controlling pests like mosquitoes.

Many bat species face serious threats, from habitat loss to diseases like White-nose Syndrome. Protecting their habitats is key to helping them survive.

Let's work together to ensure these fascinating creatures continue to thrive!
