LIFE CHANGES FOR 10.13.25

45 year old Erron Antisdel of Omaha, formerly of Fort Calhoun passed away September 23rd. He is survived by his partner, John Flemming, his mother Jeanette, his twin brother, Eric, sister Jennifer and their families. Visitation is this Friday at 1 at Reichmuth followed by a memorial and luncheon.

86 year old Denny Decker of Arlington passed away October 5th. He was a member of the Arlington Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Althea, daughters Hansie Hill and Laura Pleskac and their families. A celebration of life is Saturday, October 18th, 11am at the Arlington Auditorium

93 year old Les Hodges of Omaha, formerly of Missouri Valley, passed away October 4th. He is survived by his children, David, Dale, Dana Hodges, Debbie Polzine, Diane Methlie, Dawn Pfannenstiel, and his siblings Othal Hodges, Jerry Hodges and Janet Thomas. The Memorial service is tomorrow, 10 am at Lutheran Church of the Master in Omaha.

DONATIONS PART OF BLAIR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING TONIGHT

The Blair School board this evening will consider donations from t he Blair Fine Arts Booster club – a cabinet for the art department that costs 2600 dollars and a new sound system for the show choir for just under 8 thousand dollars.
Other donations and gifts are to be considered as well – including a thousand dollars for the school’s Future Farmers of America program.
Those are a few of the matters for the Blair School Board for tonight’s meeting, which starts at 7pm at the Blair Central Office, 1326 Park Street in Blair. The complete schedule can be found at Blairschools.org

BAD DRIVERS, PURSUIT AND OVERWHELMED WOMAN ON WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S REPORT

An arrest late last night of a 34 year old male for driving under suspension at Highway 133 and County Road 30 is on the Washington County Sheriff’s Activity Summary for the weekend.
An unresponsive woman in Kennard was tended to by the Kennard Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, another driver under suspension found at Highway 133 and County Road 36 and arrested.
A pursuit for speeding on Highway 133 Saturday afternoon finally ended in the 3100 block of County Road 37, A 57 year old male was arrested for willful reckless driving, speeding and flight to avoid arrest.
Among the many other matters on Sheriff Mike Robinson’s report – a woman flagged down a deputy in Blair – she needed to talk with someone for a moment about difficulties in life.

BLAIR CITY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER ADDING NEW MEMBERS TO FIRE & RESCUE DEPARTMENT

Temporary closure of some downtown Blair streets for the upcoming Tannenbaum festival is on the agenda for the Blair City Council tomorrow night. Adding three new members to the Blair Volunteer Fire and rescue department , approving the revised constitution and bylaws for the fire department also on that agenda. Among the many other matters, designating the new dog park as the “Mandy Jo Rounds” Memorial Dog Park. That meeting tomorrow night starts at 7pm in City Council Chambers at 218 South 16th street.

WASHINGTON CO. BOARD MEETS TOMORROW

The property tax request and grant levy authority to the Fort Calhoun Fire District is on the agenda for the Washington County Board of Supervisors when it meets tomorrow afternoon.
Discussion of printing services and an update on Jail revenues is expected at that meeting, which starts at 3:05 in the supervisor’s room at the Washington County Court House at 15th and Colfax.
