Cruise Night 2026 brought thousands of visitors, vehicles, and spectators to Blair for an incredible evening of community engagement, classic cars, and regional activity.

Event data collected through traffic monitoring and visitor analytics showed:

đźš— 2,026 unique cruise vehicles identified
đź‘Ą Approximately 4,300 estimated unique visitors
⏱ Average visitor dwell time: 101 minutes
🏍 283 motorcycle pass-throughs
🌎 67.5% of attendees traveled from outside Blair

Public safety agencies also coordinated throughout the evening to help keep the event safe and orderly:

• 44 traffic stops
• 13 citations issued
• 29 written warnings
• 2 arrests
• 2 motorist assists

The City of Tekahmah reported the city will have a crew grinding bumps and problem areas on the city streets the 1st week of June. This will include the problem area on Highway 75 outside the Chatt Center. Please be patient with them as these are being fixed and allow for extra time for your commute.

LIFE CHANGES

Steven Kent Sorensen, age 79 of Blair, passed away May 10 surrounded by his loving family. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 16 at 11 AM at First Lutheran Church in Blair. A celebration of life will follow the services at Steve and Bruce Ann's cabin at Tyson Bend on The Missouri River. Private graveside services will be held in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, May 15, at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM.

John Henry Jensen, age 76 of Herman, also known as Hank, passed away May 5 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. A memorial services will be held Saturday, May 23 at the Herman American Legion at 10 AM. Graveside services will follow in the Herman Cemetery.

WASHINGTON COUNTY PRIMARY ELECTION RESULTS
Preliminary results for voter turnout for yesterday, May 12, 2026, in Washington County indicated that a total of 4,721 ballots were cast. 3,391 Republican, 888 Democratic.
For US Senator Republican Pete Rickets received 79% of the vote, Democrat Cindy Burbank received 85% of the vote.
For Congress District 3 Republican Adrian Smith received 60% Democrat Becky Kelly Stille 83%.
For Governor Republican Jim Pillen received 74% of the vote, Democrat Lynn Walz received 86% of the vote.
Secretary of State Republican Scott Petersen received 48% and Bob Evnen received 38% of the vote. Democrat Sarah Slattery received 82% of the vote.
For County Sheriff Republican Kevin Willis received 64% of the vote.
For Legislature District 16, Ted Japp received 65% of the vote over Cindy Chatt at 31% of the vote.

MEMORIAL WALK
The Blair Police Department and the Washington County Sheriffs office is inviting the public to come out on Thursday, May 14th for the National Peace Officers Memorial Walk. The walk will start at the Blair Police Department office at 6:30 and conclude at the Washington County Sheriff’s office. They will be sharing stories about those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
