It's been an honor to serve the staff and students and LES.
After Christmas break, I was notified my position was being cut and LaGrange would drop to one counselor. This is not the fault of local LES administration, it's just the way education is structured. Actually, KDE recommends one counselor per 250-300 students and this is rarely met. In fact, there are some elementary schools in OCS that only have one counselor with close to 700 students. Recommendations are just that, and it doesn't mean they are wrong for not following them, and would guess (without researching) very few schools accomplish this goal. LES has been blessed to have two counselors for the last handful of years considering having much lower numbers.
Thank you Ms. Mader for being a pro to work with for the last two years and I know you will continue doing wonderful things to empower our students!
Thank you to the staff. I've never worked with so many people rowing the boat in the same direction. I hope the relationships we've personally built live on.
Good luck to Mr. Goff as he will take over Leopards Live! We placed 2nd in the state this year and I look forward to cheering them on from afar.

Finally, thank you to our LaGrange families for your trust and it's been an honor of a lifetime to walk the halls with your children.
What's next? Time will tell. As for now, my Ducks and I have flown south and we await the next challenge.

This week, we honor our Teacher of the Year, Staff of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year. Thank you for helping our Leopards succeed daily!
Our 2024-25 Teacher of the Year is Steve Mahoney. This is his 2nd year at LES, and we appreciate his service to our students and families. Mr. Mahoney is a Rubber Duck whisperer and is the broadcast voice of Spalding University.
