Today my dad told me he still didn’t understand why my mom divorced him 17 years ago. I didn’t think he was serious, but when I realized he was I told him why.
She was tired of being a married single mother. He was a “stay at home dad” yet she would get home after her hour commute and have to make us dinner, clean the house, & do our bedtime routine. She would also get us ready for the day, even if it made her late to work, while he slept in. All while she paid the bills.
This shocked him.
