Many people remember Chris Farlekas fondly and with great respect for everyting for which he stood. The CHRIS FARLEKAS LEGACY FUND aims to honor Chris's memory and legacy by contributing funds to those cause to which Chris was so devoted.

Adriene Butvinik was an artist and maker, activist, longtime teacher, friend, and colleague of many in the arts and education in this region of the Hudson Valley. She was a member and strong supporter of Orange County Arts Council, a fan of CANVAS, a member of Bliss Co-op in Sugar Loaf, a regular protester along Rt. 6 at the Waywayanda CPV plant, and a self-professed "Happy Hippie."

Adrienne died on Friday, May 18.

The funeral for Adrienne Butvinik will be on Tuesday, May 22nd at 12:30 PM in Temple Beth Shalom 13 Roosevelt Avenue Florida, NY.

Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery 12 Market Street Saddle Brook, NJ.

Shiva will be on Tuesday late afternoon and evening and Wednesday and Thursday afternoon and evenings at 155 W 27th Street Bayonne NJ.

Noted blues musician Little Sammy Davis dies in Middletown at 89

Middletown resident Little Sammy Davis, world-renowned musician and member of the NY State Blues Hall of Fame has died at the age of 89.

The April edition of CANVAS will feature a tribute to Davis.

ATTENTION MUSICIANS AND BLUES FANS: If you knew Mr. Davis personally or were a fan of his music, you are welcome to submit a written tribute for possible publication in the April CANVAS. Please send your personal remembrances, anecdotes, and thoughts to: [email protected].
