I have started a vintage group on a new app called Mantel. It’s like Facebook for collectibles.

If you are already on Mantel please search for and join a group called “Vintage Baseball Cards.”

This is sort of a pilot project intended for maybe 50 to 100 people until the groups feature gets refined, at which point we will be looking to expand membership.

Personally, I like the idea of using a collectibles app directly, instead of Facebook, for cards. I like startup stuff so this should be fun.

Looking for 50 hobby pals to help kick the tires on a new collecting app (not my app--just helping test a new Groups feature).

They will open up a vintage group that I will moderate. We will just hang out there instead of Facebook (or in addition to) and chat vintage, share / post as usual and also give suggestions for how the Groups function could be improved.

As an SGC collector, I'm late to the news that PSA made some silent yet major changes to its grading scale. What is the impact?

PSA has changed its grading standards. No more off-center gems. What does this mean for previously graded cards?

Yes, SGC is a bit backed up at the moment. The flood of questions gave me the idea to make a "bookmark worthy" article I will update weekly or as needed to answer current questions about SGC.

A fun hobby of mine . . . removing baseball cards from albums they have been pasted into. Here's a 1932 Sanella Babe Ruth safely removed from the album page. If it can be done safely it's generally better for the card.
