Day 12 of 12 Strays of Christmas brings us another adorable pair of fur babies waiting for their forever home. Let's help clear the shelters with City of Bloomington Animal Care and Control. Thank you to Pizza X for covering adoption fees!

It's time for the "12 Strays of Christmas" with our friends at Bloomington B97! Each weekday from December 8th through December 23rd we will feature at least two shelter animals. The featured animals do not have adoption fees thanks to a generous donation from Pizza X!

Our dog feature of the day is the always surprised, Daisy Roberta. Daisy Roberta is a goofy little dog with big main-character energy! Full of enthusiasm and zest for life, Daisy loves good snacks, good company, and bopping around the yard like a dog half her age. At just about 30 pounds, she proudly accepts everyone’s shock at how ridiculously adorable she is. She’s done great in a foster home and will even rock a cozy outfit when it’s cold. If you’re looking for a pint-sized pup with a huge personality, Daisy Roberta is ready to steal your heart!

Our cat feature of the day is currently unemployed working cat, Icee. Icee is one of the working cats at the Bloomington Animal Shelter. Working cats like Icee play an important role by helping manage rodent populations in barns, warehouses, and businesses, all while living safe, cared-for lives. All of our working cats are spayed or neutered, fully vetted, and ready to clock in on day one. And best of all, there are no adoption fees for our working cats. We have several working cats waiting for their forever jobs. And don’t worry, Icee plans to stay on the payroll for life… paid mostly in kibble, naps, and job satisfaction. Yesterday, we got to celebrate the joy of music with 🎶Music Matters🎶 by distributing instruments to our recipients. Special thank you to Guitarworks in Greenwood for providing the guitars 🎸🎸 and to Musicians Repair & Sales in Indianapolis for providing the woodwind, brass, and other string instruments🎻🎷! In addition to their instrument, each child received 6 months of music lessons from Stafford Music Academy! Special shoutout to John’s (2636 E. 3rd St., Bloomington, IN) for catering! Oh YEAHHH! Meet Big Fella Cash, busting into your heart like the Kool-Aid Man himself! This big, lovable guy is housetrained, does great with other dogs and older kids, and has a delightful medium energy level. Cash is on a weight-loss journey to his healthiest self, so get ready for even more wiggles and zoomies ahead. If you’re looking for a larger-than-life best friend with a whole lot of love, Big Fella Cash is ready to crash your couch — oh yeahhh!

Our feline feature of the day is sweet little, Duck. Once the sweetest, most patient momma you’ve ever seen, and now ready to be the baby of your house. Duck sets polite boundaries, no belly rubs, please, but she’s a total purr machine who loves to sit, relax, and hang out with her human. She’s very food motivated, so you’re only a few treats away from winning her heart. After taking care of everyone else, Duck is ready to be cherished, spoiled, and loved every single day.

Our dog feature of the day is the handsome and loving guy, Dior. He’s a very sweet, well-mannered boy who may be a little shy at first, but give him some time in the yard or a few cuddles, and you’ll be best friends in no time. Dior is dog-friendly, loves children, and has a gentle, loving nature that shines once he warms up. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a heart of gold, Dior is ready to meet you!

Our rabbit feature of the day is the sleek and social, Gladys! She’s a curious, playful Holland Lop who loves to explore and forage for tasty treats. Toys aren’t really her thing, but she does have a refined palate. Gladys enjoys culinary variety and gets bored with the same greens every day, so she loves when her menu changes! She would also prefer slow, gentle introductions to other rabbits in the home. Looking for a sweet, inquisitive companion? Gladys might be your girl! 🐰

Our dog feature of the day is the sweet girl, Treat. Treat is a fun-sized cuddle bug at just around 40 pounds! She’s a total sweetheart who loves car rides, cozy snuggles with her people, and being part of the action. Treat walks nicely on leash, does great in a crate, and is happiest when she’s with her humans. She’s a big fan of other dogs and would love a canine buddy. Kids make her a bit nervous, so she’s hoping for an adults-only home. If you’re looking for a cuddly co-pilot with a gentle heart, Treat might be your girl!

Our kitty feature of the day is Moccasins. Moccasins is a chatty, social young guy who loves the spotlight and never says no to a photo op. Found as a stray and never reclaimed, Moccasins has been waiting far too long for a family of his own. He’s been thriving in foster care with our friends Btown Meow Cat Café , where his cool personality really shines. Moccasins adores other cats, loves company, and is more than ready to trade café life for a forever home. Our dog feature of the day is the loving and handsome, Nice Boi. Nice Boi truly lives up to his name. He’s a gentle, sweet soul who loves meeting new people and has done well with other dogs. Though he tested positive for heartworm disease, he’s already on the path to treatment, and the shelter will handle his care and gladly walk adopters through the process. If you’re searching for a calm, loving snuggle buddy, Nice Boi is ready to curl up and finally rest his head in a cozy home. 💙

Our kitty feature of the day is the delightful, Luna Sue. Luna Sue, an 11-year-old beauty who’s healthy, freshly checked out by the vet, and still full of energy. This athletic girl loves to play, especially with string and shoelaces, and can jump impressively high. Luna Sue would do best as the only pet in a calm, adult home where she can feel secure. She’s sensitive and a bit anxious, but deeply devoted and full of love for her person. Stop by to meet this gentle girl today!

Brit is a professional cuddler with a heart big enough for everyone... people, dogs, and cats alike. If it breathes and is willing to snuggle, Brit is in. This handsome guy is thriving in his foster home, fully potty trained, and happiest when he’s wrapped in a sweater, holding a favorite toy, and pressed up against someone he loves. Brit is gentle, affectionate, and loves to be babied. He is always keeping tabs on where his people (and furry friends) are so he can curl up close. If you’re looking for a dog who truly believes cuddling is a lifestyle, Brit is ready to move in.

Meet Babes, a handsome charmer with a heart full of love. This sweet boy adores being petted and will thank you with tiny mews and happy purrs as he snuggles in for a nap by your side. After spending part of his life as a stray, Babes is ready for comfort, companionship, and a permanent spot on the couch. In foster, he’s been a wonderful companion and even enjoys going for rides on a walker. Babes is FIV-positive, so he’d do best as your one-and-only cat or with other FIV-positive friends.
