Hey everybody! It’s definitely been a while since I’ve updated y’all, but as I wrapped up my last event tonight I wanted to post one last video announcing my retirement from DJing. With humble beginnings as In-Your-Budget Sound Services to making the change to Alan Hunt Sound and Lighting, the past 3.5 years have been incredible and I’ve been blessed to have been able to do what I’ve done, but my time, passion, and energy are called elsewhere. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without your trust and support and I want to say from the bottom of my heart to all my clients and friends/family that have helped me along the way: THANK YOU! I love and appreciate you all and I hope that I’ve helped you create incredible memories at your events like I know I’ve created for myself. Bye for now 👋🏼

Had a return visit to the KC Lake Club last night for a successful Irish ceremony/reception- what an awesome night at a beautiful venue. I might have had a cold and sounded super congested on the mic, but everything still went perfectly.

I also got to premiere my NEW up-lighting fixtures and I received SO many compliments on them, that's how I know I made the right investment! I'm so excited to be bringing these to all my events going forward.

If you look at the pictures you may notice there's no WIRES. That's because they're battery powered and wirelessly operated...you guys know how much I love my wireless toys. 😎 Just another addition to my "wireless advantage."

This is a serious game changer for both me and my client. No more hundreds of feet of extension cables all over the place or picking and choosing what I can/can't uplight. I can accentuate things that are impossible to otherwise just because there may not be an outlet around. These venues get really crowded really fast when you have a few hundred people packed in them, the last thing you want is a bunch of extension cables duct taped everywhere adding to the clutter. I'm trying to simplify my setup as much as possible to ensure that I'm adding aesthetic quality to the venue and not the opposite and these are the perfect addition.

Had a great ceremony/reception on Sunday at Destihl Brewery to kick off the 2019 wedding season. Such an incredible venue with an incredible staff, can’t wait to go back in a few months. I had the awesome opportunity on Wednesday to provide the music and PA for the McLean County Chamber of Commerce networking event held at Altman's Billiards & Barstools Bloomington and it was a blast. Great food, drinks, and people and I hope I'll be able to do it again sometime!

In other words, I've got my first wedding to kick off the season this Sunday at Destihl Brewery's Barrel Room..can't wait to get back into the groove and take pictures..this venue is beautiful.

I was looking through some old wedding pictures to post and this one in particular gets me pumped UP for wedding season! Look at all that greenery..ahh I love outdoor country style weddings. Spring, please hurry up.

Hey everybody! I hope you all had wonderful holidays spent with your loved ones. I sure did and I'm ready to get back into the swing of things.

Here's an oldie but goldie video about my "wireless advantage", check it out! I love technology, and the fact that I can incorporate into my setup to provide the best possible experience is awesome, even if it is a little more advanced with a higher learning curve.

I literally cringe when I see the setup of other DJs around here with equipment that is 20 years old, ugly, and bulky. I get it, if it's not broke, don't fix it, but there's something to be said for the huge improvement in sound quality/efficiency with newer technology, as well as the aesthetics of the speakers themselves. Maybe I'm just a millennial 🤷‍♂️

Hey everybody! Just checking in. I hope y'all aren't too stressed with the holidays coming up.

I'm finally on winter break, but the time I'm not spending on classes is definitely still spent working.

With that being said, I'm super pumped to reveal my new website! www.ahsoundandlighting.com !!!!

I literally grinded this one out yesterday but I'm proud of how it turned out and would love it if you guys went to check it out and let me know what you think!

I still have plenty of Spring/Fall 2019 dates available, so with the holidays coming up and proposals following suit, please keep me in mind to DJ for your friends and families! It would mean the world to me!

I was asked if I do backdrop projecting..I didn't, but I can, so now I am! I put together a few loopable back drops with different fonts on top and gave it a test run. This is definitely going to be an excellent addition to a reception venue, but it'll be pretty dependent on whether the venue is going to be too well lit and/or if they have a flat wall or not. If this is something you'd be interested in having at your wedding, let me know and we'll see if we can't make it happen!

Take a look at an excerpt from yesterday’s Marine Corps birthday celebration! It was an awesome group of people and I was honored to help them celebrate anniversary number 243. It was the absolute least I could do for our Veterans. Not to mention I finally got to bust out all my new toys 😎 15 hour days make for an exhausting experience, but it was my last foreseeable event for the year and man was it fun. Hope to do it again next year! Thank you Marine Vets for letting me host the evening and God bless our Veterans!

Does anyone else just get so excited for new extension cords? Just me? Oh well.

I may also be excited because I bought these extensions cords for my NEW LIGHTS! Yep, definitely excited about those. I'll be rushing to whip together a light show before this weekend's Marine Core anniversary celebration event, but I can't wait to post the results.

In other words, I'm applying to run sound and/or lights at Vale Church in Bloomington, so keep me in your thoughts and prayers! How awesome would that translate back into my sound and lighting game?! Awesomely!
