The Whitestown, Indiana homeowner charged in the fatal shooting of a house cleaner was released from the Boone County Jail after an initial hearing Friday morning. Curt Andersen, 62, was charged on Nov. 17 with one count of voluntary manslaughter.

The judge set bail at $25,000 at a Friday hearing for Curt Andersen, who was charged with shooting and killing house cleaner María Florinda Ríos Pérez de Velásquez in early November.

Lacking sufficient federal guidance, states are wrestling with how to define medical frailty — a consequential decision that could cut Medicaid coverage for many people, said state officials, consumer advocates, and health policy researchers.

This spring, Maxwell Fertik, who teaches comprehensive design at Indiana University, gathered a group of 13 undergraduates in a classroom and told them their assignment: design a series of miniature golf holes based on Kurt Vonnegut’s 1963 novel  . ⛳️
