At 46 and 111 kilos, I used to time school pick-up carefully so I could slip in, grab my kids, and leave without chatting. I felt like I didn’t belong with the other mums. They all seemed so put together. It may sound crazy, but I had no confidence at this weight.
I’d tried everything: low-fat meals, tiny portions, daily walks after drop-off, community gym classes. Nothing moved the scale. The shame just got heavier. Then a mum who’d transformed herself told me something I’d never heard: when your body stays inflamed too long, it stops responding normally. Fat loss stalls no matter how hard you try. She sent me an article explaining it. I didn’t expect much but within two weeks I felt lighter. Six weeks later I become a new person.
Now I stay and chat after pick-up. My daughter noticed first: “Mum, you talk to everyone now.” Sharing in case someone else feels like I did. Link below.
