Today is our 25th Anniversary. This is a photo of Linda when we lived in Blue Rapids. See that Giraffe pen on her? I gave that to her 26 years ago for sticking her neck out to call me and asking to go to Vista for a hamburger.

Many college students have been on TV saying that they want a life were everyone is equal. Sounds like a good idea. But does it work, well kinda.
According to this weeks Manhattan Free Press "Today communism is the official form of government in only five countries: China, North Korea, Laos, Cuba, and Vietnam." Yes, communism does make everyone equal. How does $8,640 a month sound? Oh, that per-year not a month. In Laos people are equal making $8,640 a year. Vietnam is $14,400 a year and China you can have $24,380. North Korea and Cuba will not give out that information. And Russia is not a Communist State: "Communism as a state ideology is dead in Russia. This is official. “No ideology may be established as a state or obligatory one,” goes Article 13 of Russia's Constitution adopted in 1993." See the Free Press at manhattanfreepress.com

Who will make the best President?
Editorial - By Jon A. Brake, Publisher
Manhattan Free Press

For me, Tuesday night was something special. I have not watch ABC since 1966. That is a long time. Why?
I was out of the army (Called up with the Kansas National Guard in 1961) and had been working in Newspapers for four years. I was working for the Topeka Capital/Journal and loving the news business.
We did not have 24 hours of TV news then, we had three TV stations, CBS, NBC and ABC. News was only 15 minutes long and starting at 5 p.m. CBS was first, then NBC and ABC running from 5:30 to 5:45.
The Vietnam War was just heating up. Robert McNamara was the U.S. Secretary of Defense and he had made a statement one afternoon and I watched it on CBS and NBC, same statementt. ABC come on and gave the same statement but they cut the First Word, and that change the whole meaning of the statement, one word.!
I was young, only 26 at the time and new to the news business but I had never considered someone would cut a statement on purpose.
It didn’t take long Tuesday night to figure out that ABC has not changed. Why would you fact check one side and not the other? And why would a fact checker give the wrong information?
I don’t care if a President is a Man or a Woman, Republican or Democrat. I want the best person for the job. That’s it, the best person.
I do watch Fox news but not for long. I want both sides of he story. The Free Press uses news from 11 deferent news organizations two are liberal news and 9 are different shads of conservative.
I feel this Country is headed for Communism, do you know why? Because we were told that is the goal.
In 1959 Nikita Khrushchev said: “Your children’s children will live under communism. You are so gullible. No, you won’t accept Communism outright; but we’ll keep feeding you small doses of Socialism until you will finally wake up and find that you already have Communism. We won’t have the fight you; WE’LL SO WEAKEN YOUR ECONOMY, until you fall like overripe fruit into our hands.”
I do not care if someone will be the first at something. I want to know what they will do after taking office.
And by the way, we have Communist in all areas of business, education, and news. Communism? The first thing Khrushchev wanted to see in the U.S. was a grocery store. That’s all Comrade.
