🚨 URGENT ATTENTION CATTLE FRIENDS 🚨

Last week I was contacted by a super nice gentleman with a downed heifer and by all accounts and purposes the vet or he couldn’t figure out the problem immediately. After he and I brainstormed I contacted Taylor Blake and asked for her help since she has so much rehab knowledge. This heifer was diagnosed with TAPEWORM. Taylor has advised me this is the 5th she’s heard of diagnosed with tapeworm lately and the cattle rarely survive. The tapeworms seem to be migrating to the spine and the cattle never regain the ability to get back up on their own. She is going to add to the post once her vets get back with her on some research they are doing and I’ll post this in a few places. This seems to be a growing problem. Please feel free to share this info.

We have to get our HANDS ON these hairy cattle when checking them because it is super easy to not realize there is a poor body condition under that shaggy coat.

Most everyone knows we are a pretty natural care farm but we do deworm on a regular basis and there are lots of options. Please check your dewormer of choice to make sure it kills tapeworm and get those hands on those cows checking under the hair for body condition. A heavy coat can hide a quick killer.
