The Alabama teen, whose osteosarcoma has now spread to his brain and behind his eyes, admitted he was terrified before he went to bed last night.

Terrified of losing his eyesight.

Terrified of what comes next.

💔 UPDATE — The miracle Joey Rodriguez’s family prayed for did not come the way they had hoped.
Just days after suffering a catastrophic head injury during a Spurs playoff celebration in San Antonio, the 17-year-old has just passed away.
Over the last several days, I’ve shared Joey’s story and spoken with family members who refused to stop believing.
Even after doctors declared Joey brain dead, they continued praying.
They continued talking to him. They continued holding his hand.
When they saw movements in his knee and thumbs, hope rushed back into the room. I shared the video this afternoon of a potential miracle they believed in.
They desperately wanted to believe their son, grandson, nephew, and friend was still finding a way to answer them.

UPDATE on Will Roberts —
Yesterday, I shared a photo of Will watching the sunset over the Pacific Ocean with his best friend, Cooper.
Today, the Alabama teenager is back in treatment.
If you’re new to Will’s story, he’s the teen whose emotional videos about not wanting to die touched millions of people online.
That support helped lead him to California, where he is receiving the experimental cancer treatment DeltaRex-G after osteosarcoma spread beyond where doctors first found it.
More recently, his family learned the cancer had spread to his brain.
Now they’re facing a new challenge.
Will’s family says they are finally starting to get the severe pain in his eye under better control, which is a huge answer to prayer. But the double vision continues, and it has become one of the biggest frustrations he faces every day.

An evening with his best friend, Cooper.
No hospital room. No scans. No doctors standing at the foot of the bed.
Just two friends watching the sun go down over the Pacific Ocean.
If you’ve followed Will’s journey, you know how much this photo means.
