The mission of Gary Bowling's House of Art is to be a vital resource for Appalachian artists and to make art easily accessible to the community, offering plentiful opportunities to discover, experience and explore the arts in an inviting and welcoming atmosphere. We will strive to be a visible advocate for the arts in our community and, as always, share our over-the-top, must-be-seen-to-be-believed vision with all who enter our doors.

Good evening, folks! We were honored to host the Bluefield State Womens’s Soccer Team and their coaches tonight! These young women are from all over the globe, and are earning their degrees in everything from pre-med to political science to applied science. The future looks brighter after meeting these folks! They had dinner together, catered by Drake’s, got to tour the One Thin Dime Museum and the GBHA gallery as well as explore the Ramsey. A great way to spend an evening together! We enjoyed meeting them and hope they come back to visit soon! Special thanks to Sheila Brooks for arranging
this outing for the team!

Putting the finishing touches on Chainsaw the Muskie…This was carved about 5 years ago by my good friend and fellow artist “Rod Man” Liesure as an outside piece. It was rotting away as all pieces of wood do outside. It took lots of rock hard Dhurams putty, a few cans of insecticides for the carpenter ants and termites..and a lot of love for the piece to bring it back to a new level. Now I am figuring out where it’s gonna go. I love my life! Blessed beyond belief!
