A step in the right direction! We talked about how the latest drought monitor would likely show an improvement in drought conditions thanks to the rain over the past week, and it has!

The extreme drought classification has been dropped from our area, and we're even starting to see an improvement in the severe drought in Pocahontas and Greenbrier counties.

In many places though, the damage has already been done to crops between the freeze at the start of the month and the rain deficit. Not a lot of rain is in sight for our area too, so we still have a long way to go.
