Beaufort County Capital Improvements is pleased to announce that a reopen date for the Bluffton Pool has been tentatively planned for late May 2025! Beaufort County looks forward to welcoming patrons back once the facility has completed construction and passed all necessary inspections to ensure everything is ready for a safe and enjoyable reopening.

We’re thrilled to attend the 4th Annual Beaufort County High School Regional Art Exhibition!

Now showing at the Coastal Discovery Museum from April 1 – May 7, this incredible exhibit highlights the creativity and talent of high school artists from across the county.

From painting and photography to sculpture and mixed media, these student works are a must-see.

Happy Anninversary Corner Perk! 16 years ago we stood with some members of our church and prayed God would bless this business and the community through it and even though it took 8 years to really make dollar #1 I’m am humbled honored and abundantly thankful to God, our team and the community to know that he has blessed the community and our family through it more than I could have ever imagined. So thank You God and Bluffton for all your love and support these past 16 years! And as is tradition and it’s no April Fools joke, batch brew coffee is free at all of our locations all day today. So cheers and drink up!

Beaufort County will begin road repairs on Bluffton Parkway, from Buck Island Road to Red Cedar, starting tonight, Monday, March 31, 2025, weather permitting.

Daily nighttime lane closures will take place from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and are anticipated to last for two weeks.

During construction, lane closures, road cones, and signage will be present to direct traffic safely. Motorists and residents should prepare for lane closures and are encouraged to use extra caution when approaching work zones.

***OUTDOOR BURNING BAN IN EFFECT AT 6:00 PM***

The South Carolina Forestry Commission is
issuing a State Forester’s Burning Ban for all counties, effective at 6 p.m. today.

A State Forester’s Burning Ban prohibits all outdoor burning, including yard debris burning, prescribed burning, campfires, bonfires and other recreational fires in all unincorporated areas of the state.

Forestry Commission officials say weather conditions over the next several days present a greatly elevated risk of wildfire. The high winds and gusts that prompted the agency to issue a Red Flag Fire Alert yesterday are expected
to persist across the state through the weekend.

Additionally, extremely low relative humidities – reaching below 30% in most areas – add to the fire danger.

“The combination of gusty winds and low relative humidity is a recipe for wildfires igniting easily and spreading rapidly,” said SCFC Fire Chief Darryl Jones, “especially when you add to the mix the abundance of dry, late-winter fuels on the ground.”

The ban will stay in effect until further notice, which will come in the form of an official announcement from the Forestry Commission.

Please adhere to the outdoor burn ban!

From the The South Carolina Forestry Commission:

SC FORESTRY COMMISSION ISSUES STATEWIDE BURNING BAN — The South Carolina Forestry Commission is issuing a State Forester’s Burning Ban for all counties, effective immediately.
A State Forester’s Burning Ban prohibits all outdoor burning, including yard debris burning, prescribed burning and campfires in all unincorporated areas of the state.

Very low relative humidities statewide, coupled with drying fuels resulting from the lack of significant rain, have resulted in 102 wildfire ignitions today alone. Much-higher-than-forecasted winds have led to these fires spreading rapidly and growing larger.

While a majority of the current wildfire activity is concentrated in the P*e Dee region, the rest of the state is experiencing a dramatic upticking in wildfires today, straining the capacity of agency firefighters to respond.

The ban will stay in effect until further notice, which will come in the form of an official announcement from the Forestry Commission.
