📣Don't be scared be prepared with the brand new Indiana Weather Network mobile app coming in late June of 2026, the Indiana Weather Network mobile app will be available for download in the Apple & Google Play Stores! Stop overpaying for Weather apps you don't need or for services you don't use!

To make this happen, we have partnered with InstantWeather! They have been incredible to work with, and they let us know recently that our app is officially nearing completion!

In this app you will find the following:

-Custom IWN sent push alerts (for intense weather situations or even aurora sightings!)
-Watch our live coverage streams from the app
-Current weather conditions
-Up to 15 day forecasts
-Hourly forecasts (for all 15 days)
-All current weather data (wind speeds, temperature, dew point, pressure etc)
-Ground breaking smoothed radar (free version)
-Advanced radar is available under an extended subscription
-48 hour future radar with extended version
-Reporting section for you to report weather to us with options for pictures / videos!

And much more!

The app is FREE to download and it is free to use. There will be extended subscription options that can unlock more features if you choose to go that route.

Our plan is to launch this in mid to late June of 2026 so stay tuned in for its official release date!

We are so very excited to continue to advance the IWN brand and provide even more resources for you to stay up to date with the latest weather here in the Hoosier state.

Be sure to follow our partners at Instant Weather Ontario! They’ve been incredible to work with and we’re excited to continue our partnership and development of our app over time!

1:38am EDT Unfortunately data is not looking the best for aurora at this time. Our CME has hit however the initial shock is aimed north with a consistent +10-20BZ. We need that to be -10 to -20bz for us to have a shot. While solar winds and overall strength is sufficient, we won't see it unless the atmosphere is able to charge. It is currently stable as a rock and will take time to charge. Even if the BZ suddenly flips to -15 it will need a consistent-BZ to charge over an hour or so to move the lights south.

I encourage you to steer away from aurora Apps tonight that go off of KP values as KP is not updated to be current and will be misleading. Please reference the GOES Magnetometer, SWPC BT/BZ (we need a negative BZ number), or SWPC ACE.

Another note is that this may be only the first CME, we may still have 1 or two more enroute. A secondary impact may help charge things up. But will it occur before sunrise? That's the unknown. The longer be stay positive in the BZ the more delayed our chances will be. Currently our chances tonight are low due to a late arrival and possitive BZ.

Our solar storm has arrived at our outer satellites and will impact earth in about 45 minutes. All eyes now on the data to see if we trend favorable for a southward push!
