Producer, mixer, recording engineer, studio owner, musician, songwriter, publisher… BG is a hands-on dynamo, with copious enthusiasm and creative ideas and the technical expertise to make things happen; and a proven track record of contributing whatever is necessary to take artists to the top of their game. Originally from a popular teenage rock band in New England and a long south Florida music career he shares the benefit of his experience building hit making careers both in the US and abroad.
at this point i’m not throwing on just the engineering hat, or just a background vocal or bass, or guitar-playing hat. When I’m producing, that’s the extra bonus that people get. If it’s better for somebody else to track or mix, I will go that route. If it’s better with somebody else singing background, I’ll go that route. But for example, I’ve sometimes played 90 percent of the guitar and sang 95 percent of the backgrounds, and mixed it and mastered it. It’s not because I had to, but sometimes when you’re in the studio it's time to go for it and sometimes experimentation is the next logical step. So we go for it with whatever tools and ideas that are available.
How do I know whether a project is right for me? Well It really has to be soulful to me. I don’t mean it has to be strictly R&B. I think Billy Idol was soulful as is Dion and many rock, country and pop artist are. They have to believe in themselves and have emotion behind it. If somebody has all that and they have talent, and if we’re in agreement about songs, it’s like the stars align. . I love it when that stuff like that happens. -
Yeah you got to have mad passion and in most times it's the product of much sacrifice, trial and errors, wins and losses. There needs to be a desire for natural perfection and the wonder of creativity to be inspired
Remember without persistence none of this can happen
as there would be no forward motion
