West Boca News

West Boca News A community resource for West Boca Raton, including news, links to area businesses, and more.

When we moved to West Boca, we were surprised that there was no community website. Maybe that's because West Boca doesn't always feel like its own place. We hope that by building this website (and this page), it will help build a stronger sense of community.

PJ LibraryÂŽ and the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County invite families across the community to celebrate the fourth night of Chanukah at a joyful and music-filled outdoor gathering on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Boca Center, 5150 Town Center Circle, Boca Raton.

This beloved annual event brings families together for an evening of storytelling, crafts, music, and a community candle lighting. Children and parents will enjoy hands-on Chanukah crafts beginning at 5:00 p.m., followed by a special PJ LibraryÂŽ storytime at 6:00 p.m.

At 6:15 p.m., local community rabbis will light the menorah, bringing a powerful sense of unity and tradition to the evening. Immediately after the candle lighting, families will enjoy a festive Chanukah concert featuring the Rock N’ Roll Rabbi, David Paskin. Back by popular demand, Rabbi Paskin’s interactive music and warm holiday spirit make him a favorite for children and adults alike.

Families who RSVP in advance will be entered for a chance to win exciting prizes.

Elana Ostroff, Senior Director of Family Engagement, said, “There is something truly special about seeing our community come together to welcome the lights of Chanukah. The music, the stories, and the excitement on the children’s faces make this evening unforgettable every year.”

The event is open to the public. To RSVP or learn more, visit jewishboca.org/events/pj-library-community-wide-chanukah-celebration/

CP Group’s 10th Annual Tree Lighting & Holiday Extravaganza lit up the Boca Raton Innovation Campus (BRiC) on Thursday, November 20, bringing together 3,780 attendees to celebrate a decade of tradition and giving. Emceed by Emmy Award-winning journalist and CBS12 anchor Liz Quirantes, this year’s Polar Express-themed soirée delighted guests of all ages with a night of festive performance and magical memories, all centered on the lighting of BRiC’s iconic 40-foot Christmas tree.

This year’s event continued CP Group’s tradition of supporting two local nonprofits: the Spirit of Giving, a collaborative organization that focuses on helping children and families in Palm Beach County, and the Junior League of Boca Raton, an organization dedicated to promoting volunteerism, empowerment, and community betterment. General admission was free for guests who brought a new, unwrapped toy or made a monetary contribution to Spirit of Giving’s Annual Holiday Gift Drive. CP Group collected over 400 toys, spreading holiday joy to families throughout the area. Over $8,000 was raised through VIP Tent ticket sales, benefiting the Junior League of Boca Raton’s mission, while over $2,500 was raised for CPG Cares, CP Group’s 501(c)(3) charitable foundation, through sponsorship of the event’s popular inflatable candy canes and a portion of cash bar proceeds.

BRiC transformed into a festive winter wonderland for the milestone celebration, complete with Polar Express-themed décor, twinkling snowflakes lining the entrance, and activities for all ages — as well as a daring arrival by Santa himself, parachuting from an airplane. Other highlights included live performances by the Palm Beach Youth Orchestra, Organic Movements Dance School, and local magician Magic “J” with MamaMia Magic Entertainment; a curated lineup of food trucks from local favorites; a 360-photo-booth and snowman bounce house, all capped off with an outdoor screening of The Polar Express under the stars.

Children enjoyed visits with Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elves, rides on the trackless train, and crafts inside Santa’s Workshop Tent featuring holiday-inspired birdhouse building with Habitat for Humanity and artNEST Studios, and holiday bookmarks and letters to Santa with the Boca Raton Historical Society. The tent also featured an adoption center in partnership with Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue, where families could meet and interact with puppies – or “reindeer-in-training” – in search of their forever homes.
