Working with your spouse is a lot like being business partners with your favorite coworker… and your least favorite coworker… all in the same person. 😂

On the Gold Coast Podcast, Monica Balyasny talked about working with her husband and one thing stood out:

Yes, they argue.

Yes, they disagree.

But it’s never personal.

The mission comes first.

When both people are focused on the same goal, disagreements stop being about who’s right and start being about what’s right for the business.

That’s how you build a firm.
That’s how you build a marriage.
And somehow… that’s how you survive Monday morning meetings together. 😂

Eric and Andrea were trying to figure out why everyone felt a little off...

Was it the alcohol? 🍸

Was it the Denver altitude? ⛰️

Or was it the combination of both turning simple conversations into TED Talks nobody asked for? 😂

Apparently a couple drinks at 5,280 feet hits a little different.

Good thing Andrea from Prime IV knows how to get people back to feeling human again. 💧

Lesson learned: if you’re drinking in Denver, hydrate like it’s your full time job.

Monica Balyasny talks about something a lot of entrepreneurs and business owners can relate to...

How do you successfully run a law firm with your spouse, raise kids, build a career, and still enjoy life?

As a partner at her firm, Monica shares the realities of balancing business, marriage, parenthood, and everything in between. It’s not always perfect, but it takes communication, teamwork, and a little bit of humor along the way.

A great conversation about building a successful business while also building a successful family.

On a recent episode of the Gold Coast Podcast, personal injury attorney Monica Balyasny jokingly pointed out that my mouth might be my most valuable business asset.

As someone who speaks, sells, networks, records content, hosts a podcast, and meets with clients every day, she said it would be pretty catastrophic if something happened to it.

Of course, Monica quickly added the attorney disclaimer that there are way too many variables to put any real value on something like that and this was all just a lighthearted conversation.

Still, it definitely makes you think about how much of our livelihood can depend on the things we take for granted every day.

Mike Goldman of Gen-X Construction talks about something that a lot of people in business forget…

You do not survive 30 years in business off hype. You survive off relationships. You survive off integrity. You survive because people trust your word even when nobody is watching.

In a world obsessed with shortcuts, Mike built his company the old school way:showing up, treating people right, standing behind his work, and protecting his reputation at all costs.

That’s the difference between a business that lasts a few years and a business that becomes a legacy.

Real success is not built overnight. It is built conversation by conversation, handshake by handshake, and relationship by relationship.

Respect to the entrepreneurs who still believe character matters.

Eric Winegard, CEO of Rare Blue Moon Marketing, and Mike Goldman of Gen X Construction, two Palm Beach County business owners, talk about how every dollar earned and every dollar spent ultimately comes back to one thing… family.

People see the businesses, the long hours, the pressure, and the success. What they don’t always see is the reason behind all of it.

Our wives don’t work FOR us. They work WITH us.

This isn’t just business. It’s a family mission. Every sacrifice, every risk, and every late night is about building a better future for the people we love most.

James Hackman talks about how one of the smartest business moves you can make is sometimes doing something for free. Not because you’re desperate… but because you understand relationships compound over time.

Too many people think short term. Real entrepreneurs think long term. One great relationship can lead to opportunities, referrals, partnerships, and business for years.

Sometimes the ROI isn’t immediate money. Sometimes it’s trust. And trust is priceless in business.
