Volunteers needed for general labor.
📆 SATURDAY, July 26 @ 7:30 am
📍Meet at the American Legion Post 208 in Kerrville (3600 TX-27, Kerrville). Departure time is 8 a.m.
➡️ We will be picking up debris and separating from trash to making areas mowable. 💚
What to bring: Protective footwear, hat, pants, long sleeve shirt. If you have metal rakes, chainsaws or anything to help with yardwork, please bring any tools you have. 
Gloves, meals and drinks will be provided.

COMFORT VFD, COMFORT AREA FOUNDATION RECEIVE SIZABLE DONOR CHECKS

The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country dispersed a second round of the more than $60 million raised in flood relief since the devastating July 4 Guadalupe River flood.
Comfort Volunteer Fire Department ($50,000) and the Comfort Area Foundation ($350,000) are among the 35 recipient agencies of the $4.4 million that the foundation released on Tuesday.

SIGNIFICANT WATER LEAK IN FAIR OAKS RANCH DISRUPTS SERVICE TO SOME

This afternoon, staff discovered a water main break along Dietz Elkhorn Rd near the Summit Ridge intersection. While initially identified as a very minor issue, the leak has since escalated and now requires critical repair. Residents on Timber Top, Kempton Circle, Duberry Ridge as well as the Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club are primarily affected.

At 3:09 p.m. Friday, July 25, Boerne Police Department Dispatch was notified by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office of a vehicle pursuit underway on I-10 West headed toward Boerne from San Antonio.

Boerne Police officers joined the pursuit as it crossed into the city limits. Shortly after that, the suspect vehicle had a blowout and came to a stop on the I-10 westbound frontage road near Parkway Drive in Boerne.

Two suspects bailed out of the vehicle and ran. One was apprehended by a DPS trooper and the other ran onto the Y-Bell Ranch Supply property along the frontage road. The second suspect was apprehended at about 3:35 p.m. on the business’s property.

Both suspects have been arrested. There is no ongoing threat to the public.

Boerne Police and other law enforcement quickly set up a perimeter to contain the suspect, which resulted in some local streets being briefly closed. All streets have now been reopened to traffic.

The vehicle, which was reported as stolen, had been traveling at speeds in excess of 100 mph during the pursuit.

All of us here at Sisterdale Volunteer Fire Department would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to Free Roam Brewing Company, Helicopters for Heroes and all the incredible organizations and individuals that came together to host tonight’s incredible Community Supporting Community event.

This evening wasn’t just about coming together — it was about standing tall for the Hill Country. And wow, did our people show up.

To every individual, every business, and every organization that came out tonight — your presence, your support, your heart — it means the world to not just Sisterdale VFD, but to all of us. You reminded us that in times of trial, the Hill Country doesn’t just endure… we rally.

Sisterdale’s finest (and their amazing spouses!) turned out in full force tonight — proud, humbled, and filled with gratitude for the community that continues to lift us up as we serve.
