A Handsome Bobby Jack update for y'all! Our family moved from Boerne, TX to Southeastern Oklahoma in September. From a subdivision house to a 50 acre farm. Bobby Jack, Hazel & Dottie love to be outside with their 10 mama sheep, 15 baby lambs, their 2 Anatolian Livestock pups, Cliff & Clover, and several chickens. One of Bobby Jack's favorite things to do is chasing after the fire flies when the sun goes down!
Bobby Jack gave us a big scare... 2 weeks ago he stopped eating, very unusual for him, and began vomiting. We thought he had gotten into some daffodils which can be toxic to dogs. We were treating him for that. After several days of not getting better, we took him in to a vet. Blood work came back completely normal, so X Rays were done next. The vet saw something in the XRay that didn't appear normal. We left Bobby Jack in her care on Friday afternoon and that night he was cut open. We were called and notified that Bobby Jack had an 18 inch knotted, climbing rope in his small intestines. Had we waited any longer to take him in, she said his small intestines would have ruptured. Besides removing the rope, he had to have about 4 inches of his small intestines removed. Bobby Jack is recovering like a champ and his funny and sweet personality is back, which makes me so 😊 His appetite is definitely back as well, but we have to take it slow the next several days.
We love our Bobby Jack so much and we are so thankful he is going to be OK. We will try and keep y'all updated on him and his new life on the farm!
