JUST SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT SERIOUSLY

Something people don't think about with mobile DJs...
When you hire us to DJ from 7-12 our workday doesn't start at 7pm,
Sometimes we're pulling up at 2:30, Can be even earlier…
Why?
Because all that stuff you see when you walk into the room didn't magically appear there. 😂
The speakers. DJ booth. Facade. Controller. Laptop. Microphones. Lighting. Stands. Cables. Backup equipment.
We brought it.
We unloaded it.
We carried it inside.
We set it up.
We ran the cables.
We tested it.
We made it look good.
And THEN you walked in and said:
“Ohhhh, they got a DJ!” 😂
That's the goal.
Because yes, technically I could walk in with a laptop and one speaker and have music playing in 20 minutes.
But that's not the experience most people pictured when they decided to hire a professional mobile DJ.
And here's the other part nobody sees:
When your event ends and everybody says, “Where are we going next?”...
We're still there. 😂
Now everything has to come apart.
Cables rolled.
Lights packed.
Speakers loaded.
Booth broken down.
Equipment carried back outside.
Vehicle loaded.
Sometimes that “5-hour DJ job” required us to be on-site 7 or 8 hours.
That's one of those behind-the-scenes parts of mobile DJing people rarely think about.
You're not only paying somebody to press play for five hours.
You're paying for everything it takes to make those five hours look easy 🫡

Yesterday's celebration of life event was I think the best event that I've ever done in my career the lady's life that they were celebrating was an amazing woman the love compassion and caring attitude that she had for her friends family and anybody that she came in contact with was just incredible this world definitely lost an angel it was an honor to provide entertainment for them

The biggest mistake couples make when building must-play lists 👇

As a wedding DJ, I completely understand why couples make huge must-play lists.

It’s your wedding.
You want to hear songs you love.
That part makes total sense.

But sometimes couples accidentally build playlists that are WAY too specific to their own personal taste.

And that can become a problem once dancing starts.

Because a wedding dance floor isn’t just about the bride & groom…

It’s about creating moments for 150+ guests at the same time.

I’ve seen must-play lists filled with super niche songs, deep cuts, slow indie tracks, or music that only a small group of people in the room actually know.

And while those songs might mean a lot personally, they don’t always translate well to a packed dance floor.

That’s why I always tell couples this:

There’s a HUGE difference between “songs you love” and “songs that work for a party.”

And honestly, the best weddings usually find a balance between the two.

You can absolutely include personal songs and unique moments…

But if the goal is keeping people dancing all night, the music also has to connect with the crowd as a whole.

Sometimes the smartest thing you can do is save certain songs for cocktail hour, dinner, or smaller moments instead of peak dancing time.

Because once the dance floor loses momentum, it can be really hard to rebuild it.

A great wedding playlist isn’t just about personal taste…

It’s about understanding how people react together in a party environment.
