Our Story

Community radio for Boise and beyond. KRBX 89.9 / 93.5 FM broadcasts to an area of 700,000 in the Treasure Valley and worldwide online at http://radioboise.org/stream. Boise Community Radio Project, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was established in 2002 to create southwest Idaho’s only locally programmed, non-commercial, community radio station. Now known as “Radio Boise”, we broadcast musical, cultural and issues-oriented programming to the Treasure Valley from Boise to Ontario, Oregon. Programming reaches a population of 700,000 people, the largest area in the nation that until 2011 was not served by community radio. Radio Boise was founded to fill an essential need. We use radio to connect our community. Through a local approach to broadcasting, Radio Boise upholds programming principles designed to inspire creative discussion and enhance social, cultural and environmental awareness by providing music and community affairs programming within our broadcast area. Our goal is simple – we want to give people their voices back.
