Hyperlux Magazine and Publishing is owned by gallerist, curator, and artist Aunia Kahn with husband and co-owner Michael de Vena. Together they also own Poetic Tiger Gallery, a new contemporary art gallery and Rise Visible—a digital marketing and web design agency with a 26-year legacy of elevating brands through innovative design.

Her subjects, despite often appearing compromised, exude a quiet power beneath their soft and feminine exterior.

Every detail in her work is crafted with care, using the finest quality pigments and materials while employing time-honoured techniques. Hannah prefers a hands-on, traditional approach, deliberately avoiding digital mediums and screens in favour of a more romantic, tactile process. Her passion for authentic craftsmanship infuses each piece with emotion and depth, capturing the complex interplay of beauty and dissonance that defines life.

Jel Ena grew up surrounded by art. Raised in Belgrade, Serbia by a painter father and painter mother, she came to the work not as a choice but as an inheritance, and eventually, an inevitability.

After relocating to Los Angeles in the ’90s, her palette brightened and her practice evolved in directions she never fully planned. Today she is best known for her expressive, character-driven cat paintings, made under the Instagram handle Mister Jellyfish, where a devoted community has grown around her work. We sat down with her to talk about change, connection, and what it means to follow the work wherever it leads.
