Hyperlux Living Hyperlux Magazine is a platform that explores the intersection of art, collecting, design, and creative living.

Hyperlux Magazine and Publishing explores the intersection of art, collecting, design, and creative living. We've developed an eye for what matters—and it's rarely what everyone else is talking about. With a decade of book publishing behind us, we've built our reputation championing extraordinary voices through compelling in-depth Interviews, Art that captivates us, Design & Living stories, incred

ible spaces and studios, Literature worth reading, and practical Resources. Through both our magazine and publishing division, we tell the authentic stories behind contemporary culture. We also operate as an independent art publisher producing high-quality, artist-driven works that explore the intersection of fine art, design, and narrative. Our publishing model combines traditional craftsmanship with modern distribution, offering both physical and digital formats that reach global audiences. We regularly collaborate with artists, galleries, curators, and cultural organizations to produce special editions and custom publishing initiatives that elevate distinctive creative voices—continuing our mission to champion authentic creativity in all its forms. Hyperlux Magazine and Publishing is owned by gallerist, curator, and artist Aunia Kahn with husband and co-owner Michael de Vena. Together they also own Poetic Tiger Gallery, a new contemporary art gallery and Rise Visible—a digital marketing and web design agency with a 26-year legacy of elevating brands through innovative design.

The myth of the starving artist has done more harm to creative communities than perhaps any other cultural narrative. Somewhere along the way, we’ve bought into the romanticized notion that “real” artists must suffer for their craft, that having a steady paycheck somehow diminishes artistic authenticity, and that true dedication to art requires choosing between creativity and financial stability. It’s time to retire this harmful stereotype once and for all.

A great painting makes you feel: it evokes powerful, transcendent emotion.
From the blank canvas branches infinite potential realms of individualistic expression, processed by the viewer through lush, sensory-evocative visual language. Whether the artist’s representational canvas is on virtual display, through software synonymous with Adobe Photoshop, Procreate and Krita, or is authentic textile, tactile and stretched on pinewood frame, confines of creative expression are more to the imaginative mind than aspect of “medium”—traditional, digital or otherwise entwined.

Your friend posts a photo of her coffee cup next to an open book on a wooden table. She doesn’t just caption it “studying.” Instead, it’s tagged with a string of carefully chosen emojis.

Welcome to the age of aesthetic categorization, where every moment of daily life gets sorted into named visual categories. We’ve moved beyond simply living experiences to carefully curating and labeling them according to predetermined “vibes.”
