Uploading a new episode of The Great Idaho Show.

This one is the day after the November 4 election. I sat down with former Boise City Council candidate Lynn Bradescu to talk about what just happened in Boise and what it means for the future.

We cover how she went from “I thought I was moving to Mayberry” to feeling like Boise is turning into “Escape from New York,” her 100 Ada giving circle that has raised nearly two hundred thousand dollars for local nonprofits, twelve years living in Mexico, and how that shaped her view of water, infrastructure and government.

Then we get into Boise.
The city flag and basic civics.
The failed recall of Mayor McLean.
Property taxes, levies and Legacy Idahoans on fixed incomes.
Interfaith Sanctuary versus the Boise Rescue Mission.
Low barrier homeless policy.
Out of state developers, up zoning and whether Boise is really “too far gone” or if it can still be saved.

If you care about Boise’s future, this conversation is worth your time.

I just got out of the studio with Kim and Steve Machado of Mashidaho — two Idahoans turning creativity, hustle, and local pride into a growing homegrown business.

We talked shirts, branding, Idaho grit, Buy Idaho, Inc., and the courage it takes for families to build something that captures the essence of Idaho. It's dangerous folks.

This episode is going to be a blast.
Sundays at 11am on KIDO.

Stay tuned — this one is pure Idaho.

Boise County is growing fast, and our EMS system deserves stable, creative support. I want to share an idea I’ve been developing, one that began with local businesses and expands into a county-wide opportunity to strengthen our emergency response.

It started with this simple thought:
What if our businesses could ask customers to “round up” their purchases to support Boise County EMS?

Pennies at a time… but multiplied across the entire county, especially during tourist season.

Here’s the truth:
Tourists are already our best tippers.
They come here because they love Boise County, and they’re more than happy to chip in a buck or two when it has a clear purpose. This gives them a meaningful way to support the community they enjoy without raising taxes on locals.

Businesses could even receive a small percentage for participating, turning it into a benefit, not a burden.

That concept has grown into something even more useful:

A voluntary “Round Up for EMS” option on county permits, filings, and tax payments.
No mandates. No new tax.
Just community power, multiplied.

I’m putting it forward publicly because Boise County needs solutions that come from within, practical, local, and ready to implement.

If we want faster response times, better equipment, and true EMS stability, we need to think creatively.

Round Up for EMS.
Locals helping locals and visitors helping the place they love.

Would love your thoughts.

* Owner Identified * – Thank you all

The Sheriff’s Office has been notified that a black Labrador was found injured and taken to West Valley Vet by a good Samaritan. He’s a super sweet, well-cared-for dog and may be from the Wilderness Ranch area.

Veterinary staff checked—no microchip was found, so we’re hoping the community can help us get him reunited with his family.

If you recognize this dog or know who he belongs to, please contact West Valley Vet or the Sheriff’s Office.

Please share so we can get this pup back home. 🐾
