This take is absolutely wild, and I sincerely hope he doesn't have a wife or daughters.

1. Women and girls should have agency by default. It isn’t something men get to grant them.
2. Men didn’t give women their rights. Women fought for them.
3. Men commit about 90% of global homicides.

It's almost like there are other teenagers out there who probably need to read this.

Utah recently added its 37th book to the list of texts that are banned from public schools across the state: 'Push' by Sapphire.

The novel follows Precious, a 16-year-old girl who has survived in**st, r**e, and horrific abuse. After being failed by the adults and institutions meant to protect her, she begins learning to read and write, finding the language to tell her own story and envision a life beyond what has been done to her.

The sexual violence in 'Push' is disturbing because it's supposed to be. And it is certainly not there to titilate. It's there because it happens to children, and silence has never protected them.

Sometimes the books that make us the most uncomfortable confront the most horrific atrocities humans can commit.

And sometimes these books save lives.
